24.01.2022 LETS TALK ABOUT WORMS! This is a barbers pole worm egg we discovered under a microscope after performing a procedure called a fecal float. This type of worm only effects sheep and goats and with all this humid and wet weather it has made the perfect conditions for these intestinal worms and parasites to reproduce.

20.01.2022 Strange find... This patient presented to us after the owner noticed something a bit strange in his lip. After performing a full examination Dr Lauren found a really strange place for a tooth... this is a tooth from another dog stuck in this patients gum. We removed the tooth under sedation, provided some pain relief and this patient is on the road to recovery!

19.01.2022 Ring Worm! Ringworm, as the fungus is commonly called, is named for the round, raised, red ring appearance usually seen in human ringworm infections. Ringworm in dogs spreads through direct contact with the fungus. This can happen when your dog comes in direct contact with an infected animal or person or touches a contaminated object like a couch, comb, food bowls, bedding, or carpet. The fungal spores responsible for the spread can remain viable for up to 18 months and typic...ally spread through shedding or breaking of infected hairs. Contact us if your dog experiences any or all of these symptoms: -Circular areas of hair loss -Dry, brittle hair -Scabby, inflamed skin -Rough, brittle claws Circular areas of hair loss Dry, brittle hair Scabby, inflamed skin Rough, brittle claws

12.01.2022 Have you ever been this hungry? This is an abdominal x-ray of a dog who ingested a STONE! This poor patient came in with vomiting, lethargy and inappetence. After performing some x-rays we could clearly see why.... so we performed abdominal surgery and removed the stone from the small bowel. This pup is now on the road to recovery and will be hopefully leaving rocks off the menu for dinner in future.

09.01.2022 Wildlife Post! This is a injured Kookaburra which was found tangled in a barbed wire fence late last week. Our veterinary team anesthetized and surgically removed the wire from his wing, kept him in hospital for some supportive therapy/pain relief and successfully released him today! If you find any injured wildlife please give us a call on 54087090 and we will try to give the most appropriate care
