22.01.2022 I’ve had lots of jobs lately to get front and backyards ready for Summer - repairing water features, fixing reticulation, gardening and even updating this outdoor shower that was a bit run down. I only have a handful of appointments left in December so if you need work done before Christmas don’t hesitate to send me a message.
22.01.2022 A few clients have asked for recommendations for pest management and I’ve passed on the details of Frontline Pest Management, so I thought I’d share their business here too. We had Neil at our home yesterday for our annual termite inspection, he provides excellent advice at a reasonable price and they are another local, family business.
21.01.2022 This is just one of the bathroom renovations that I’ve worked on lately. For this job I disconnected the plumbing prior to demolition, cut in and installed the shower channel grate, installed the new cabinetry (constructed by Appearance Cabinets in Port Kennedy), then installed and connected the shower, bath and basin tapware. Before and after photos below. Whether you’re looking to do a major renovation or simply update tapware, feel free to send me a message to discuss your needs. I’m now booking work for January 2021.
21.01.2022 One of the most enjoyable projects I’ve worked on over the last few weeks would have to be this cubby house for some very lucky children. A few more features will be added in the new year, including a climbing wall and a window but I hear that they’re already having heaps of fun. If you have a job that needs doing or a project you would like to discuss don’t hesitate to send me a message. I’m currently booking work for the second half of February.
21.01.2022 At the insistence of my wife, it’s time to show my face. I’m not a fan of photos and my general attitude is to ‘just getting on with it’, but I guess some of you want to know who I am. As a qualified plumber but with plenty of experience in scaffolding, rigging, building and farming, I’m used to finding solutions to a problem whether it’s replacing, repairing or repurposing. Let me know if you have a job that needs doing so we can discuss your options.
21.01.2022 It’s the first day of Spring, so it’s the perfect time to think about what you’re going to do with your lawn over the coming weeks. September and October conditions are ideal for getting your lawn looking it’s best before the Summer heat. If you’d like some help with your lawn, whether it’s a one-off overhaul or ongoing maintenance, send through a message for a quote.
21.01.2022 I hope everyone did alright through the stormy weather on the weekend! I spent some time on Sunday sorting out this Tuart branch that came down in the storm a few weeks ago. Let me know if you have any storm damage that you need some help fixing.
20.01.2022 As much as I try my best to estimate how long a job will take and book appointments accordingly sometimes things don’t go to plan, but I will always do my best to update the current client if something unexpected happens and the next client if it means I’m going to be held up. Sometimes jobs are less complicated than expected and the same updates will happen, thankfully so far I’ve had to call more clients to ask if I can come earlier rather than call to say I’m running late. And the flexibility goes both ways, all I ask is that you give me as much notice as possible if you need to reschedule but keep in mind that for most jobs I’m happy to do the work whether you’re at home or out and about and am happy to make arrangements prior to the appointment for access if needed.
18.01.2022 It’s been a busy week here filled with gutter cleaning, lawn mowing, gardening, hanging hooks, mounting clothesdryers, paving, updating tapware, replacing bathroom cabinetry, hanging curtains, repairing reticulation, fixing sliding door, fixing door locks and lots of quotes. Just a few more lawns and gardens today and some work on a bathroom update then I’ll be enjoying Sunday with my family. I’m full booked for next week but if you have an urgent job or need a quote send a message through and I’ll see what I can do, otherwise I’m taking booking for the following week.
17.01.2022 A slightly different Support Local post this time because I would like your suggestions for coffee. I’ve been a fairly regular customer at Jaffelato in Rockingham, Brother of Mine in Baldivis and Pinjarra Bakery in Port Kennedy but I’d love to hear of any other hidden gems in the Rockingham and Mandurah area so that I can support more local businesses when I’m out on the road.
17.01.2022 I hope you have all had a good start to the new year. Thanks for all your support in 2020 and I look forward to working on all your projects in 2021. Let me know if you’ve noticed some jobs during the break that need doing and I can organise to quote you and book you in, there are only a few appointments left in February now.
17.01.2022 When you book me to do work at your property you can have peace of mind knowing that I’m fully insured for accidental damage. Unfortunately accidents can happen when work is done around your home but it shouldn’t be something you have to worry about, so make sure that whoever you book for your work has insurance. Bell Property Maintenance is also registered on the Australian Business Register and you will be provided with a tax invoice with our ABN, so you know everything is being done properly.
17.01.2022 For a few weeks it felt like that rain was never going to end, but here we are in Spring and we’ve already had some warmer days. We have started to notice everything looking a bit greener so if you need some help with getting your lawn and gardens looking their best before the heat of Summer then let us know.
15.01.2022 I hope everyone has had a good long weekend, and if you’ve got school aged children I hope you get to have some adventures with them over the school holidays. I’ll be spending some time with mine over the next two weeks but still have plenty of jobs booked in and happy to respond to enquiries. I thought I’d share these before and after photos with you, I’ve had lots of enquiries for one-off and regular lawn and garden maintenance with quite a few of my regular spots now taken. My aim is to not just be a ‘mow and go’ service, unless you don’t want me to I will mow, edge, whippersnip, blow leaves, weed and poison, and for my regular customers I’ll apply wetting agent, weed treatment, fertiliser, top dressing and mulch as needed so your lawn and garden can look their best. Send me a message with some photos if you would like a quote.
13.01.2022 Do you have one? You know those jobs that you’ve been meaning to do yourself or get someone to do? One of the most common sentences at the end of an initial enquiry or an on-site consultation is and I’ve got a list of other things that need doing once this job is done. I’m more than happy for you to let me know what’s on your list and I can give you an idea of what options you might have for completing the jobs, how long the jobs might take and how much it might cost. More than 70% of my clients this week have asked me to quote or book in further work which means a busy weekend of getting quotes out and that my appointments have filled up quickly for the next few weeks. Send me a message if you have a list of jobs that you would like some help with.
13.01.2022 The next few weeks are busy! This week is fully booked, I’m just finalising the last few bookings for next week and the week beginning the 21st of September is filling up quickly! I’ll be organising lots of appointments tonight so if you’re waiting to hear from me your message shouldn’t be far away, and if you’ve been thinking of booking now is the time to send your message. Where possible, give as much detail as you can of your job, even send some photos if relevant and let me know your suburb.
13.01.2022 What does a handyman do when he’s on leave? He works his way through the list of jobs that his wife has written for him! Putting some storage in this living space had been on our list for while but it’s finally done (except for mounting the TV which will happen this week). What projects have you been working on?
13.01.2022 I’ve sent out more than twenty formal quotes this week with a few more to be sent out tonight. All the quotes that have been accepted have been booked in and for those I haven’t heard back from I’ll usually check in with you a week after I’ve sent the initial quote to make sure you’ve received it. As always, feel free to let me know if you have any questions about your quote, if you would like to discuss other options, if you’re wanting to go ahead but not just yet or if it’s not the right quote for you. I look forward to meeting more potential clients next week and discussing what their need before sending more quotes out.
13.01.2022 Some of you have already spoken, emailed or messaged with the lovely Kelly so it’s definitely time that we officially introduce her. Kelly is our Administration Assistant who is helping us out three days per week with enquiries, bookings and bookkeeping, and as a result has taken a lot of the administration workload from Fiona. Although Kelly has an extensive background in administration, this is her first role in the construction and maintenance industry but she is a fast learner and has picked up the new vocabulary quickly. Kelly is a local Mum of two who is also studying part-time at university so she is used to multi-tasking and problem solving, both of which have already proven to be a great asset. Welcome to the team Kelly!
12.01.2022 I haven’t shared any reviews for a few weeks so here are some recent ones, I really appreciate clients taking the time to leave their feedback. As I’m sure you’ll be able to see, this business isn’t about squeezing as many clients as possible into a week and rushing through jobs, it’s also not about being the cheapest option, my aim is to be known for my quality but efficient service at a reasonable price and my ability to identify and attend to those extra little details.
12.01.2022 What a busy week here at Bell Property Maintenance! Since Monday I’ve had thirteen jobs, seven onsite quotes and too many enquiries to count. You’re all keeping me on my toes and I’m thoroughly enjoying it! I’m almost fully booked for the next two weeks so get in quick if you need something done.
12.01.2022 I’m just one like away from 250! I’m thankful for the support that I’ve received so far and have enjoyed meeting lots of new clients. If you haven’t already, head over and follow my Instagram account as well!
10.01.2022 If you mow your own lawns or have any other garden equipment that needs repairing or updating then you need to speak to Matt at Port Kennedy Mower Centre. Matt takes care of all my equipment, he provides great advice and excellent service. If you’d like a quote to have your lawn and gardens looked after then send me a message.
10.01.2022 Do you live in an area with large trees that fill your gutters and block your down pipes? Or maybe you live on acreage or near a nature reserve which increased bushfire risk? If so, installing gutter guards can dramatically decrease the debris that ends up in your gutters. Send me a message if you would like more information on gutter guards like these ones I installed this week.
10.01.2022 The last few weeks have been that busy that I didn’t even realised I’d passed 500 likes here on Facebook! Thank you for all your support over the last few months, and incase you’ve been wondering I thought I’d include a list of some of the jobs I can help you out with: Lawn mowing and gardening Garden mulching Small areas of paving and stones... Reticulation repair and programming Door hanging and peep hole installation Door handle repair or replacement Towel rail and shelf mounting Picture and mirror hanging Clothesline and clothesdryer mounting TV mounting Flat pack construction Furniture securing (fixing to wall) Tap washer replacement Tap and sink replacement Shower re-grouting and sealing Small patio construction Gutter cleaning Gutter guard installation Gutter repair and replacement Downpipe, soakwell and channel grate installation Flyscreen replacement and sliding door repair General repairs, maintenance and much more, just ask! 08.01.2022 The Winter Sprinkler Ban finished on the 31st of August and you might be thinking about turning your reticulation on and getting your lawn green. So make sure you do a test cycle first and check each zone to make sure you don’t have any issues that could be wasting water and result in a fine. If you find any issues with your reticulation and need some help don’t hesitate to send me a message.
06.01.2022 What’s better than a weeded garden? A weeded AND mulched garden! Not only will some mulch give your garden that finished look but it will also slow down the weeds and keep the moisture in your soil, very important as the weather warms up. I’m looking forward to adding mulch to more gardens in the next few weeks.
05.01.2022 What a week! This shelter down the side of the house was one of eighteen jobs I completed this week in addition to eleven on-site consultations and responding to lots of online and phone enquiries. You are all keeping me busy, so thanks for your patience with responses and quotes. Other than a few short appointments and some spaces reserved for current enquiries and pending quotes I’m booked out until Monday the 12th of October, so let me know if you need to book your job and I can always add you to the waitlist for an earlier appointment if one becomes available.
05.01.2022 If your garden beds need an overhaul after Winter don’t hesitate to send me a message. I can clear your weeds, repair your reticulation, install edging around your garden beds if needed and even provide and spread mulch to help retain moisture in the soil. I can do a one-off visit to get your garden sorted but I can also provide ongoing maintenance so you don’t have to worry about it.
05.01.2022 I’ve enjoyed a great variety of jobs again this week with lots of problem solving. One of my favourites was for these clients who were experiencing overflowing gutters at the entrance to their home which was causing their pavers to drop. An extra downpipe and a soakwell were installed, the area was covered again (second photo) and then their garden replanted.
03.01.2022 Merry Christmas! A bit late, but hopefully like me you’ve been busy spending time with family and friends, filling your belly with incredible food and keeping cool. I’ll be catching up on some enquiries, scheduling some bookings and sending out some quotes in the next few days, but other than my regular lawn and garden clients I’m not taking any bookings until January. I only have a handful of appointments left in January and early February, so let me know if you need to book some work in. Stay safe over the holiday period.
02.01.2022 Keeping your gutters clean is important all year round - in Winter to prevent blockage of your downpipes and flooding of your roof, and in Summer to decrease your risk in the event of a bushfire. These are some of the gutter cleans I’ve done recently, each pair of before and after photos are from the same house but unfortunately it’s not always possible to take photos in the same spot (or I get busy and forget!). If you had overflowing gutters during the heavy rain on Sunday or you can’t remember the last time your gutters were cleaned send me a message for a quote.
01.01.2022 Hi everyone, it’s Fiona here. Just thought I’d give a quick shout out to Colin who celebrated his birthday yesterday. I honestly can’t remember the last time he was home for his birthday, I think it might be the first time since we’ve had children, so thanks for your support of his business which meant that we were able to spend time with him yesterday. And incase you’re wondering, he’s fully booked up until Christmas (including working today) and trying his best to fit in all those last minute requests which means some quotes for next year are taking a bit longer than usual, thanks for your patience.
