20.01.2022 Council has been advised by WaterNSW that Toonumbar Dam and downstream Iron Pot Creek remain at Red Alert level for blue green algea. Very high concentrations o...f potentially toxic Chrysosporum ovalisporum have been recorded at the dam wall, the boat ramp and down stream of the dam. As the dam continues to spill, downstream users should exercise caution and keep an eye out for signs of cyanobacteria. An algal red alert represents 'bloom' conditions. Water will appear green or discoloured and clumps or scums could be visible. It can also give off a strong musty or organic odour. Algae may be toxic to humans and animals. Contact with or use of water from red alert areas should be avoided due to the risk of eye and skin irritation. Drinking untreated or boiled water from these supplies can cause stomach upsets. Alternative water supplies should be sought or activated carbon treatment employed to remove toxins. People should not fish when an algal scum is present. Owners should keep dogs away from high alert areas and provide alternative watering points for stock.

05.01.2022 Wednesday 8th July 2020 We have our Pontoon, still finishing touches like lighting, then all we need is water to lift her up . Looking great. The purpose of the gate is to stop people walking on the pontoon when it's on the ground and not in the water due to low water levels. KFC for BBCG
