13.01.2022 Although it's been a horrible year and we have all suffered in so many ways, there are positives to come out of difficult times. We may not be able to see them in the eye of the storm, but when the weather clears for a moment is a good time to measure and see what we have learned and gained, and how we have grown. Resilience does not mean being immune to the difficulties, it is built by learning and growing through them, and taking stock to realise the skills you have develop...ed and will take with you into the future. So many of my Coaching clients are starting to talk about what's better now, what they are realising they have learned, how they are more focused and have let go of stuff they weren't enjoying anymore. I've learned that it's OK not to eat out or travel so regularly, what's more important to me is making my home base even more comfy and cosy, and I have let go of uptight corporate clothes for good! I'm delighted to share that I have joined Speakers for Good, an international movement of Professional Speakers passionate about using our place on the global stage to make a real difference. Every time we speak, we pay it forward and support the U.N.'s 17 Sustainable Development Goals through the programs in B1G1. This week through 2 Conference Keynotes I was able to contribute to families in Malawi with seeds for food, kids in Kenya with early childhood education programs, communities in Ethiopia with fresh drinking water and children in Cambodia with access to library books. 02.01.2022 As we closed the office door on 2020, I suddenly wondered what our year summary would look like; in a year I feel I was not busy, the list is actually overwhelming! Despite the challenges (and understandable cancellations) of Covid times, this year we were still able to deliver: - 8 Consulting appointments; - 56 Workshops and days of Training - Over 200 Online Courses to individuals - 5 Keynote Speeches... - 30 Facebook Live catchups - 52 Coaching sessions - 4 Video Trainings - Several articles and podcasts for various channels. And we decided this year to double down on our giving, too. While we were safe and warm waiting out lockdown, millions of people didn't have a choice but to keep working in high-risk frontline roles. We wanted to help, and thanks to B1G1 we were able to make 70,390 giving impacts in healthcare, education, water and food for people in need around the world. It may not have been our biggest or flashiest year (but so much secret joy in sneaky comfy home office attire!) but when we look back, this is what we will remember most. Make a difference where you can, with what you have, for those who need it most. Thanks for the lessons, 2020!
