25.01.2022 Here it is, our COVID-19 Teacher dance from our Virtual Harem Party on April 5. We asked students what their COVID-19 playlist would look like, then narrowed down over 60 songs and they voted this one their number 1 Isolation song. To give them a laugh we suited up and danced for them :) Enjoy! https://youtu.be/hDiMIMoqqFM

23.01.2022 What a wonderful start to our online term tonight!! I was a little nervous how it was all going to turn out, but everyone embraced the technology and it was SOOOOOO good to see our community online. The support has been overwhelming. It feels like we are all sharing a little piece of our home, with a piece of the Arabesque community. We are growing our roots in new ways and blossoming! I know not everyone is able to be online with us, but don't fear, we will be back in the studio as soon as we can.

17.01.2022 What a lovely weekend of dance and music, celebrating the opening of Raw and More on Semaphore Road, and entertaining the crowd at the Vegan Festival. The sun was shining and it was great to feel the joy of being out in the community again
14.01.2022 Had some fun collaborating from afar with our Taketina teacher and fab musician Tony Hole. Thank you to Tony for creating this original music "Sensing". Tony shared this song on his social media. Alain Valodze heard it (he had never met Tony) and was inspired to play guitar with the track. He recorded it and then sent it back to Tony. Tony sent it to Regan, who was then inspired to dance to it. All in isolation, but all together. Created during the COVID-19 Worldwide Pandemic, April 2020, Adelaide South Australia. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kc5ueDQnLn0

11.01.2022 This was so much fun, and a little lightheartedness in the middle of our show, Soul Fire in 2017. Sometimes I have some crazy ideas and somehow people agree to come along for the ride. Thanks to my Lion Morgan, and our tribe of forest creatures Sari, Bridgette, Linda and Jo https://youtu.be/vabMnkJkkFM
11.01.2022 Dear Belly Dance Arabesque Community It certainly has been an interesting time in our story! I would like to thank everyone for their amazing support of our space and what we offer, from our students, teachers, my landlord, friends and family. When all this began I wasnt sure we would see it to the other side, and even though we are not out of the woods yet there is some light at the end of the tunnel. With change comes change and its going to be an uncertain time for quite... some time in health and business. I have made the choice to keep our classes on line until the end of term 2. This will give us a fresh start for term 3 and a little more time to see how things go. We will need to adhere to the COVID-19 conditions of space and hygiene requirements in the studio once we return so this may limit some class numbers and the way we can do things. Requirements and information is changing all the time so we will have a clearer understanding of this closer to the beginning of Term 3. Our term 3 timetable will be open for bookings from July 1st so keep an eye out for that on social media and in your emails. We will have an end of term 2 virtual party, stay tuned for more information about that. Thank you again for your continued support, we will need it more than ever as we try and rebuild from the effects of COVID-19. If you have any questions at all please get in touch via email, phone or messenger. We cannot wait to dance with you all in person again soon! With love and virtual hugs, Regan and the Arabesque Team
10.01.2022 We love to get out and about and here we are performing with the fabulous Adelaide African Beats led by Adrian Grigg at the Body Mind and Psychic Expo last year. Regan, Sarah and Harri are dancing ATS (Fat Chance Belly Dance Style) which is an improvised style of dance. It means we can be in the moment, it's like a fun ride that you get to do with your friends! Connection and Creativity! https://youtu.be/2-fmbm-avN4
09.01.2022 Happy Sunday! A new video up on our YouTube Channel. In September 2018 Regan, Sarah and Liyana did a guest spot at the Assuit and Tie, Rachel Brice show in Melbourne Vic. We performed a tribute to Bal Anat, an iconic troupe created by Jamila Salimpour 50 years prior. Their stunning Folkloric style was the inspiration for this piece, choreographed by Regan. Regan and Sarah also performed this piece with Jane in Wellington NZ in February 2018 for Suhaila Salimpour. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/9rSK7cB5qGA

01.01.2022 "We dance to be free, to express and rejoice, but today we all dance to give the silent a voice" Today we were supposed to be out in the community as part of the world wide event 'Shimmy Mob', dancing to raise awareness for Domestic Violence and our chosen charity, Women's Safety Services SA and the Migrant Women's Service. As we can't be together, we have put together this pic of some of our wonderful Adelaide team to share today. Keep in your hearts those that have suffered in situations of DV and say something if you see or hear something that is not right. Don't be silent. If you or someone you know needs help you can reach out at 1800 RESPECT. #shimmymob
