25.01.2022 Freya and Athena met in Mums and Bubs Yoga a while back and look at them now. They're the big kids on the block!

25.01.2022 This is such a beautiful idea. The time goes so quickly and how lovely to be able to see the journey of twenty years in one little clip. The glorious development of one little human in to a full blown adult woman.

24.01.2022 Hello to all you dear Belly Bliss Yoga mamas, I hope all is faring well and you are staying warm and cosy on these winter days, taking time to breathe and enjoy your baby or if this little one hasn't arrived earth side then your bump. Term Three face to face starts next week, THERE'S JUST A COUPLE OF PLACES LEFT SO DO LET ANY PREGNANT FRIENDS OR MUMS WITH WEE CHERUBS KNOW. Enrolments via the website.

23.01.2022 We have had a few babies who are yet to turn heads down in the past little while. I thought you might be interested to check this out showing how sometimes babies can be manually rotated. Sometimes, for various reasons, they need to stay as they are and that's just as it is!

21.01.2022 Bridge pose with a baby. A great way to strengthen legs and glutes and to cultivate spinal flexibility.

21.01.2022 Nysha has let me know her wonderful news: "Aurelia Elizabeth was born Monday night @41 weeks 1 day (2 days before booked c-section). Successful VBAC! 4.1kg and head above the 97th percentile. Had an epidural and no other intervention. I'm feeling really empowered by my experience and very in love with my little daughter" Hearty congratulations Nysha on the arrival earth side of this precious, beautiful girl.

20.01.2022 We have been having so much fun in the Mums and Bubs Yoga. Here are the promised pics

20.01.2022 Term Two courses are nearly full except for the PREGNANCY YOGA COURSE STARTING 22ND APRIL, 4.15pm so if you have any friends who you believe would benefit from this please get them to check out the Belly Bliss Yoga website.

20.01.2022 At a time where breech births are becoming increasingly less embraced in the hospital culture, it is wonderful to read Elisse's inspiring story about her recent labour and birth. Thanks so much for sharing it with us all Elisse and hearty congratulations on the arrival of Amber: "BREECH BIRTH STORY Little Amber Ross joined us earthside at 2:08am on 4/6/20 after 32 hours of labour. She entered the world by natural breech birth under the amazing guidance of specialist Dr Steve ...Sonneveld, supported by the MGP midwives. Our world was turned on its head when at 39 weeks we found out that baby was upside down. From the moment that the scan was confirmed, we were blasted through a rollercoaster of shocked looks from obstetricians, doors rapidly being shut, and experiencing the institutional fear of natural breech birth in the hospital culture. We were initially told that a natural birth was not an option that the RHH offered as none of the doctors would deliver breech, and that a cesarian would be necessary. After spending two nights lying upside down on ironing boards and jiggling to encourage baby to spin, we attempted an ECV; a painful manual baby flip to no avail. Meanwhile, the MGP midwives - who were wonderful advocates - sought permission from hospital management to engage Dr Sonneveld, a private obstetrician and breech specialist, to attend the birth there. When we entered his office the day after the ECV and heard his calm words I really don’t know what all the fuss is about breech births, the fear melted away and we knew that we were in the best of hands. During labour in hospital, obstetricians came and went expressing concern over my situation and slow labour, yet Dr Sonneveld showed relaxed encouragement throughout, and told me that everything was going perfectly. I really don’t know how I would have made it without those words. I was 8cm dilated when Dr Sonneveld pricked my remaining in tact waters, and the moment he stepped out of the room, I screamed from the depths of the earth as my body started pushing the baby out. With some deft handwork and 5 more one last pushes, Amber was whisked out and away from me. Amber has been thriving since we came home, and we are so relieved and grateful that we were able to birth her naturally. I hope that our experience can contribute just a little to a shift in hospital culture, and to widen the awareness of breech birth options in Tasmania." See more

20.01.2022 Taking time to chill with a focused breathing practice is a great way to induce a sense of calm in to your life when you have a wee cherub. These mamas are multi tasking as they feed their bubs and bring awareness to the breath flow. Beautiful!

20.01.2022 This is an inspiring and helpful article. I particularly like the idea of finding magic in the mundane. Keep breathing, keep smiling, keep being kind to yourself.

20.01.2022 Chelsea sent this inspiring birth story and has generously agreed to share it with us. Thank you and huge congratulations. I can't wait to see you both again in Mums and Bubs in January: "The day it was confirmed I had squamous cell cancer on my nose, I was exactly 40 weeks pregnant. I’d had no sleep the night before in anticipation of the test results. At my 40 week antenatal appointment it was discovered that my amniotic fluid was low and i was going to need an induction t...he next day. My partner and I had prepared with hypnobirthing and yoga and considering it wasn’t our plan, we were going with the flow and put our energy into a positive birth experience and I’m pleased to say that happened. I was in labour for 6.5hrs and the surges started within an hour of having prostaglandin gel. They came hard and fast from the start 2-3 mins apart but all the breathing, moaning and movement that was practiced with Belly Bliss and the birthing workshop with Julia came into practice. I ended up using gas and had an epidural as I felt my lack of sleep in the lead up to the induction and getting the results of the skin cancer had me feeling quite exhausted physically and mentally. I feel totally at peace with my use of the pain relief and am proud of my journey. It was the most healing experience of my life and birthing vaginally during the active phase was truly memorable. I was actually smiling and laughing between pushing. I felt the head emerge with my hands and looked at him crown in the mirror that was held for me. This was incredibly motivational and my obstetrician Kirsten Connan and my birth partner were by my side and on my side throughout the times I needed them. I had an intense feeling of release and letting go with every push and all the emotional trauma go with every breath as I got closer to meeting our baby. I was also encouraged to enter my own trance state in early labour by my partner and found the visualisation of riding a wave through the surges was very helpful. He was a phenomenal support for me. Baby Luen De Main Bartholomew was born 1:55am Wednesday 9/12/20 at Hobart private and we couldn’t be more happy and content with our little man and the support we received from the midwives. We are now home and deeply peaceful in our baby bubble. Good luck to all of you ladies in your birthing journeys. You’ve got this xxx" See more

19.01.2022 Another baby has arrived! I've just heard from Ally who says: "Just wanted to let you know that our little man, William James Paetz, made his entry into the outside world 16 days early, on Saturday 13th June at 1.47pm. It was not an easy delivery as Will was face up and he had wrapped the cord around his neck 3 times, but the midwives and doctors at the RHH were amazing at keeping us both safe and we were able to still do a vaginal delivery. We are home and doing well. Ben and I are over the moon and completely smitten with our beautiful boy. Looking forward to seeing you later in the year for Mum's and Bubs yoga." Huge congratulations Ally and what a sweet boy William is, enjoy the newborn bliss bubble!

18.01.2022 So wonderful to be back with you all in the studio for Term Three. I've just heard this news from Tahlia: "Louis Francis Anthony Alan Turner was born at 40+2 via emergency cesarean after 2 weeks of pre labor, an induction, 9 hours of active labor and a dramatic breaking of waters... Not how we had planned to birth, but an exciting and wild adventure! We are absolutely in love with this little dude and I am a lucky lady to have had such incredible support from Adam and the team of amazing midwives, doctors and nurses who have looked after Louis and I and kept us safe and calm and together.Louis and I are looking forward to joining you again for some yoga fun a little down the track." Hearty congratulations, your little cherub looks so sweet. See you both next term.

14.01.2022 This is Jemma's birth story and a tale of hard work. Hearty congratulations Jemma and thanks so much for sharing it and the picture. We look forward to seeing you both in Mums and Bubs on 23rd. Can't wait to meet her! "River Pippin Waratah Heartwood arrived at 5:40pm on Tues 30th June. Labour was pretty darn intense... Over 15.5 hours, (contractions never more than 3-4mins apart from the start) with over 3.5hrs of pushing. All drug and instrument free. She was also posterior ...for most of the labour which made the labour even more painful - especially in my back. But I am still happy to have had my natural birth, and at least laboured for quite a while in the birth pool, even though she wasn’t born there. I did some baby catching poses in the bath. And the team working with me were truly were amazing. Now it’s a whole world of getting to know each other and figuring out sleep (or lack of it!), breastfeeding (which was SO much more painful than I ever imagined for my nipples, but starting to improve now) and how to be in the world with a new human." 14.01.2022 Happy news from Chloe: "Hazel Lichen Last was born on the 25th of July at 6:17pm after 20 hours of labour. The summary is that things started off great, got pretty intense and scary for a bit, then everything was okay in the end. He’s the best and we love him! " Hearty congratulations to you Chloe and to Alex and welcome to the world baby Hazel. What a beautiful family pic this is.

14.01.2022 On a recent trip to Maria Island I was blessed with seeing this beautiful mama wombat and her baby. How cute are they!

14.01.2022 Thinking of all you resilient and creative mamas hanging out with your kids during this time. Sending love and happy wishes for MOTHERS DAY this weekend. I hope you have a lovely day with your family and are well and truly honoured in the awesome job you do. My heartfelt wishes are for you to stay robustly healthy and that we can all gather together with our friends and broader community soon. Looking forward to seeing you back in our little studio before too long.

13.01.2022 Happy Birth New from Emma: Our baby Lottie arrived on Sunday morning. I had an amazing birth with an active labour at home and in the hospital using many of the techniques you taught us in class. I used sound and breath to get through the contractions and laboured largely in the bath at the end. You will laugh but I delivered Lottie in the baby catching position - it was perfect for the birth. Everything was so smooth and quick at the end that the obstetrician did not make ...it in time for the birth but I had two wonderful midwives as well as my very supportive husband there with me. Lottie was 3.45kg and 50cm long when she was born. The birth was completely unmedicated and I had no tearing or stitches. I am feeling great now and recovering well. Lottie is doing fabulously too." What an inspiring story. Hearty congratulations Emma and look forward to seeing you both in Mums and Bubs in three weeks time. See more

13.01.2022 More happy news! Sarah wrote with this lovely story: "Evelyn Rose Spencer was born on the 19th May at 12:16pm weighing 4.1kg (9 pounds). She was 6 days overdue so I ended up being induced that morning. My labour this time was far different to the first haha. I wanted to share my experience as I was amazed at what I was able to do with the techniques. I hired a TENS machine which I found very effective with the sounds, mindfulness and breathing techniques you taught us in class. I’ll be the first to admit I didn’t think I would use them but was amazed at how strong and present they made me feel as the contractions progressed. My labour progressed far quicker by remaining calm and being able to move about." CONGRATULATIONS Sarah and wonderful to hear Sophia is enjoying the role of big sister.

12.01.2022 More news of a wonderful birth from Sophie, thank you for sharing and for the gorgeous pics and BIG congratulations: "I’m delighted to let you know that sweet baby Jasmine arrived on the 19th of May. It was an incredible birth - much more intense & speedy than my first labour which took us a bit by surprise but was a fabulous adventure. Your upright birth positions and vocalisations came very naturally & I birthed in all 4’s baby catching position without intervention - easily the most magical moment of my life. Family complete " ***

10.01.2022 Hearty congrats to Emma Mc on the birth of Oliver who was born on Father's Day. Emma says: "The juicy details, if the class is interested: 4.4kg bub, 2.5 hours pushing phase (but it didn’t feel this long and helped keep tearing to a minimum), no pain relief (girls, you can 100% do it!) and it was just a really positive experience. And guess what, I vocalised ALOT! I found it very helpful, as well as the breathing focus, which got me through a relatively fast and powerful syntocinon-induced labour of only 5.5 hours. We are now at home getting to know each other and learn how to function on little sleep!" Such an inspiring story, thanks for sharing it with us Emma. Enjoy every moment with Oliver.

08.01.2022 Hello Dear Belly Bliss Mamas, what a big term it's been. It seems so long ago since we had the bifold door at Hara Studio open to the breeze with giggling babies kicking their feet in the sunlight. Thank you to the many of you who have transitioned these final three weeks of term to online classes. This is certainly a very different way of experiencing yoga but from your feedback has been worthwhile. I am not sure yet what Term Two looks like and need a little time to get cle...ar with what I am able to offer. In the meantime, I encourage each of you to relish what we DO have, the many blessings in our lives here in Tasmania. To those of you whose babies are due soon, I wish you all the very best. And of course let's all of us remember that the practices of yoga provide a sound framework for staying calm and present midst the challenges that life throws up. I hope you enjoy this artistic inspiration from Charlie Mackesy. See more

08.01.2022 Sarah has written with the lovely news of Ida's birth. Hearty congratulations and thanks for sharing your story, it's wonderful to hear that the second time round you've had such a positive birth experience: "My waters were broken early on the morning of 27th November to try get things moving along quicker and my obstetrician wanted the drip started by around 10am. My mother joined me at 9am and we used the next hour to reset my frame of mind after being awake all night and g...et my body in a totally relaxed state. We used a lot of the hypnobirthing techniques for this. My beautiful midwife did a terrific save of my cannula after several attempts of getting it in the evening before and by around 10.30am contractions had commenced. By around 12noon I was in active labour. I straddled a chair for the entire labour and breathed so calmly through each surge. There was no panic, no fear and I felt 100% supported. I used the tens machine as the surges increased and towards the very end had a few puffs of the gas. I felt our baby girl move through the birth canal with each surge and when I felt some immense pressure stood upright and leaned over the bed. Before my pants could even be removed our baby girls head had emerged and she was out with one more push at 2.08pm without time for my obstetrician to arrive or my midwife to glove up. It is incredible that your body just knows what to do! I used visualisations and pictured myself climbing a mountain, reaching that peak and heading back down with each surge. My support people reminded me to climb that mountain and this kept me so focussed while I breathed. It was such a beautiful experience that I would do it again tomorrow. I am so grateful for everything I learned from you and the hypnobirthing course. I honestly feel the techniques I learned in particular your ocean breath is what pulled me through. We have settled in beautifully as a family of four. Our baby girl has been a dream, our 2.5 year old toddler a bit more challenging but it has been fantastic that my recovery has been so quick and I have been able to pretty much keep to our usual daily routine and keep life as normal as possible for him. Covid has caused a lot of heartache for so many this year but what a gift it has been to end the year by welcoming a second IVF child to our family
