23.01.2022 Yr 12 Post secondary information sessions will be run in early term 3. These will include University, TAFE and other institutions application processes. 22.01.2022 Year 9 - 12 subject selections will begin in early term 3. The year level subject handbooks are now on the BHS website (under the curriculum tab) so have a look at the subjects that are available. There will be student information sessions run in weeks 1-3.

This day is for students to experience a range of design careers like Building design, Fashion, Floristry, Graphic Design, IT, Interior Design and Specialist Make-Up. 14.01.2022 To all parents of current Yr 9 Students, My Career Insights is a new program for all Year 9 students in Victorian government secondary schools.Year 9 students at Belmont High School will be participating in this program starting this week. Students will have time in English classes to complete this program but if for some reason it is not completed at school, the expectation is that the student finishes it at home. This program will help your Year 9 child to: ... learn about what skills and abilities they could bring to a job find out about what jobs match their abilities, interests and personality, and the subjects they need for those jobs As part of the program, your child will: complete a series of online questions and quizzes (on the Morrisby Profile website) at school receive a Morrisby Profile Report showing the results from the questions and quizzes, and possible jobs that match their abilities, interests and personality have a 30 minute meeting with an accredited career advisor in the last week of Term 1, who will explain the report to your child. You can attend this meeting if you wish. If your child does not participate in the program, or does not complete the questions and quizzes, a Morrisby Profile Report will not be created for them. 12.01.2022 Year 9 and 10 The Gordon are running their annual Big Design Day for Year 9 and 10 students. The event provides an opportunity for students to try design related course areas that are offered at the Gordon. Students will choose two activities from Interior Design, Building Design, Floristry, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, Specialist make-up, and Interactive Media to participate in on the day. This event is perfect for students who may consider taking up a VET in Schools or VCAL program or who may be interested in studying a creative course after completing year 12. Please pick up a registration form from Mr Masters in the Careers room and return it to him ASAP to secure a spot.

12.01.2022 The Year 9 Morrisby Career Interviews got underway today. Well done to all those students who had their interview today. The feedback from our interviewers has been fantastic. A reminder to all other year 9's to check their interview times for Wednesday and Thursday, outside P12 or the Careers Room. For students who did not finish the Morrisby online profiling there is still time to do this and hopefully be slotted in for an interview later in the week.

07.01.2022 UCAT TESTING 2020 Students who are planning to apply to Medicine, Dentistry and Clinical Science degree programs commencing in 2021 at these Universities in Australia and New Zealand must sit the UCAT ANZ test in the month of July 2020. The UCAT ANZ is a 2-hour, computer-based test, multiple choice test. Candidates sit the test at Pearson VUE test centres located in Australia, New Zealand and at some overseas centres.... Eligibility The UCAT ANZ test is only available to a candidate whose educational level at the time of sitting the test is that they are undertaking or have completed the final year of secondary schooling, or higher. For example, candidates registering for the UCAT ANZ 2020 should have completed, or plan to complete their final year of secondary schooling in 2020, that is, Year 12 in Australia or Year 13 in New Zealand. Where do students book? Registration and Booking is open now at the UCAT ANZ website and will close on 11 May 2020 at 11:59pm AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time). Late registrations are accepted until 18 May at 11:59pm AEST and incur an additional late fee. No bookings are accepted after the late booking deadline.
