02.01.2022 SHARREN HOLT - West Ward Candidate for Councillor in the City of Belmont Council Elections Hi everyone, I am seeking your vote. I have distributed my flyer to letterboxes in recent weeks. However, I would like to share some information about myself. I am a resident of Ascot Waters and have resided in Ascot since 2003. Living in the local community means that I know the area, understand community desires, am aware of local issues and I believe I can deliver a fresh approach an...d make a difference. In recent years I have represented a local action group in relation to the Ascot Kilns and Stacks and their preservation. This has required lobbying to the State Government and the City of Belmont. I have also participated in community actions in Ascot in relation to the high rise Aged Care Facility on Grandstand Road and the Marina East development on the Ascot Waters Marina and other developments. I am acutely aware of the importance of community consultation and awareness and believe they are paramount to delivering good services and value to ratepayers and families. I realise crime prevention is a key issue for residents. I will support all efforts to decrease crime and antisocial behaviour. I also believe an increased police present and increased City of Belmont Community Watch Security Patrols and more and brighter street lights are ways to achieve this. I support responsible financial management of the City of Belmont budgets and ensuring expenditure relates to areas identified through community consultation. My experience as a business owner provides me with the financial skills and experience in managing budgets. I support appropriate infrastructure including parking and road safety. I also support lower to medium residential development. The local planning scheme just provide for improved outcomes for residents to keep the City of Belmont sustainable and a great place for families to live. Local amenities and infrastructure must be considered hand in hand with the growth in residential numbers. I urge local residents to get involved and have your say regarding the proposed Golden Gateway by the City of Belmont. This Plan is very important to the future of the area. I ask you to please support a local resident by voting for change. Thank you for your time. Kind regards, Sharren Holt. Mobile: 0404496809 See more
