25.01.2022 Dr. Liam Carroll

24.01.2022 Dear Patients, we would like to thank you all for your continued patience and respect for our staff during a very ongoing, difficult time in all of our lives. Our Medical Receptionists in particular have seen their workload increase drastically since February of this year. We are averaging approximately 600 calls per day, across our two clinics. Our phone system is struggling to cope with the demand and we do apologise for any delay you may experience whilst on hold, waitin...g to be connected to a receptionist. Our staff are doing their absolute best and will get to you as soon as they can. Just a reminder that if you want to make a standard booking, you can still do this online through Hot Docs (see the blue Book Now button under our cover photo which takes you directly to it). Please answer the COVID-19 screening questions honestly so we can continue to protect our vulnerable patients and staff. COVID-19 is a scenario that not many of us have seen before and the job of the Medical Receptionist is changing on an almost-daily basis at the moment. The receptionists are having to keep up-to-date on daily changes to: General queries, COVID-testing locations, Medicare item number changes, any new Government restrictions, Government Hot Spot information, new clinic policies and procedures and also infection control information. All of this has been piled on top of their routine daily tasks. We are very grateful to have had our loyal staff stand with us during this very difficult time. We couldn't be getting through this without them and we are so proud of each and every one.

23.01.2022 Morningside has a new female doctor available on Sundays, to work alongside Dr. William Lethbridge!

17.01.2022 Hello patients! We have decided to move our telephone line opening time from 7.00am back to 7.15am effective Thursday, 15th July 2021. This is Monday to Friday. Saturday mornings, the telephone opening time stays the same, opening at 7.30am and Sundays, 8.30am. A reminder for all routine bookings, this can be done online through Hot Docs. For all Astra Zeneca and Pfizer bookings, this is strictly done online where possible as we require the forms to be filled out online, w...hich makes the processes easier for all involved on the day of vaccination. Thank you! Management.

16.01.2022 Hello to all of our patients! Just a short message to ask you to please remain patient with our call volumes and answering times. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are finding a lot of patients are needing to be tested at the moment, as per the current government guidelines and our receptionists are trying their best to attend to every caller as quickly as possible. Please remember you can book any appointments online through our Hot Docs booking system (see the Boo...k Now button under our cover photo for a quick link) but if you have a cold, cough or flu-like symptoms, you will need to book a phone or video consultation. Alternatively you can still phone us directly on: 3399 4685 if you would prefer to speak to a receptionist. Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding.

15.01.2022 Good morning to our patients! We have temporarily disabled online bookings for our clinic/s. This is due to a need to attempt at protecting our patients and staff from COVID-19 (aka Corona virus). Please understand we do this as we have some immunocompromised patients, newborns and elderly patients and we have a duty of care for them, including our staff who need to remain fit and healthy in order to care for the general population.... If you have any questions, please call us on: 3399 4685 or if you think you have been in contact with anyone who has recently travelled, or if you have travelled yourself and you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, please call 13 HEALTH or the Australian Government Department of Health on: 1800 020 080. Thank you for understanding.

12.01.2022 Dear Patients, This is just a courtesy reminder that our phones are still experiencing long delays. If you are calling to book a Pfizer or Astra Zeneca vaccine for COVID-19, please refer to our website. Our allocation for the Pfizer vaccine is exhausted, however we do have stock of the Astra Zeneca.... Please continue to check our website for Pfizer availability as we do sporadically have cancellations. Due to the number of patients enquiring about the vaccines, we cannot take your name and number and put it on a waiting list. Thank you for your continued patience and understanding of the pressure being put on our staff at the moment.

06.01.2022 Dear Patients, We have had a number of queries recently regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus). Being a medical centre, we have protocols in place to assist in the treatment of potential cases of transmittable diseases.... Do not attend this medical centre unannounced if you are showing symptoms of COVID-19, or have been or think you have been, in contact with a person who has travelled recently; especially internationally. These international regions are no longer specific to China and include but are not limited to: Italy, Republic of Korea, Japan, France, Iran and Germany. COVID-19 is also in Australia, with the most recent local case to Brisbane coming from Friday's nightclub in Brisbane City over the weekend. Please phone our clinic on: 3399 4685 if you would like to speak to a receptionist and advise them of your symptoms. We are currently conducting teleconsults (phone consultations) with a G.P. for a small fee and may consider bulk billing this in the near future. If the doctor decides you need to be tested for COVID-19, we will send you to your local pathology testing laboratory however your doctor will discuss this during your phone consultation. The main symptoms of COVID-19 remain: 1. Current fever or past fever over 38 degrees celcius 2. Cough 3. Sore throat 4. Shortness of breath You may experience one or all of the above symptoms. Please understand this is for precaution and not panic. We are not only protecting ourselves but the patients in our waiting room and also the general public. For the latest and most up-to-date information on Coronavirus, please see the links below for the Australian Government Department of Health and the World Health Organisation websites. https://www.health.gov.au//novel-coronavirus-2019-ncov-hea https://www.who.int/emergen/diseases/novel-coronavirus-2019 We thank you for your cooperation in this.

05.01.2022 Good morning to our patients! For the past week, we have been experiencing a huge increase in call volume across our clinics and due to this, there are long wait times and some patients have commented they can't even be put on hold - they are just simply cut off. Please be patient with us, as our receptionists are trying their absolute best to get to you.... If your call is COVID-19 related, you can also try phoning the government hotline on: 1800 020 080. We like to thank those of our patients who are self-isolating and not presenting to our clinics when showing cold/flu like symptoms. Please be reminded we are happy to do phone consultations for those who are unwell. We are still seeing patients who are without cold/flu symptoms and who have no history of travel or COVID-19 contact, for regular things such as: scripts, referrals, test results and childhood immunisations. Thank you for your continued patience in an unseen situation for our current times.

03.01.2022 Hello to our patients! Please read below for another COVID-19 Practice Update: As per Queensland Health guidelines, we now request patients to wear a mask when attending the clinic in person. If you do not have a mask, a similar face covering such as a scarf will suffice. Children under the age of 12 are exempt from this. We do remind patients to not present to the clinic directly if you have any cold, cough or flu-like symptoms. Please phone us on: 3399 4685 to arrange a... phone or video consultation, or book online through our Hot Doc booking system and select the Telehealth option. For all information regarding the testing process, please read the update from yesterday and there you will find links to the relevant sites. And lastly, we would also like to thank you all. Our recent, sharp increase in phone consultations shows us that a lot of you are doing the right thing in getting tested and helping to protect our vulnerable communities. We will keep updating as soon as any changes of information occur, or any new information comes to hand.

03.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone. Just a reminder that if it is hard to get through on the phones and you want to make a simple booking, it may be faster to do so online through the Hot Docs app or via. our website at: www.bgpc.net.au Of course, we are still very happy to discuss anything in person or over the phone, if you prefer.

01.01.2022 Due to the Government's changes to the COVID-19 Telehealth item numbers tomorrow, 1st October, please be aware that a fee may apply for your telehealth (phone) consultation. Please check with your doctor if you will need to pay; if you have been seen in the clinic within the past 12 months, you will receive a rebate as normal from Medicare.
