24.01.2022 THE NEW NORMAL You would have heard by now that the only legal and socially responsible way to marry is with a total of 5 people. That’s me, you, the person you love and your two witnesses. ... I know for a lot of people, this is not what they had in mind. A lot of people are hurting; heck I’m hurting! I thought last week was a shitshow! This week hasn’t been any better. But the new normal, our party of 5, doesn’t have to be lacklustre or anything less than magical. Vu and Kait (before social distancing was even a thing) decided to marry at dawn in summer on the cliff tops in Willinga... in our pj’s no less!! Bare bones, authentic, genuine and bloody spectacular! Small weddings are my jam. I love connecting with just the two of you on a completely different level. I love how intimate and raw they can be. I love how special it is. I love it because it’s what you want and what it means to you. 03.01.2022 Black Lives Matter. One thing I’ve always stood firm on has always been racism. Yes the environment matters, women’s rights, children, abuse and the list could go on, but I’ve always felt passionate about racism and bringing my children up in a world where people are treated unfairly and unjust purely based on the colour of their skin. As a mother of mixed race children (Maori/Australian) it’s always been so important to me that I teach them to treat people for who they are... and not how they look.
