16.01.2022 More patterned tiles, this time as a splashback, giving a modern edge to a vintage style bathroom #bathroom #vintage #patternedtiles #tiles #tiling #blue #fittings #mirror

09.01.2022 A couple of snaps from a recent bathroom job at the a heritage listed home in Westbury, The Gables. It was all done in a traditional look with 450 x 450 terrazzo floor tiles and 216 x 70 wall tiles. The wall tiles are scalloped in both directions to enhance the 'old-style' look.

06.01.2022 Before & After: We gutted this outdated 1990's bathroom for a total overhaul. New 450 x 450 soft grey coloured floor tiles replaced the worn vinyl (two layers!) floor covering. New 600 x 300 marble look-alike (resembling Bianco Carrara marble) tiles were installed on the walls with a strip of red feature mosaic tile on one shower wall, all chosen by the client. Plumbing was re-aligned to allow for the new set out and the concrete floor (under where the bath tub previously st...ood) was cut and scabbled and then rendered to create a sleek new walk-in shower. New joinery was installed for storage of towels and linen and even the ironing board. The walls were re-lined with villa-board and the wet area was water proofed. A slimmer vanity unit with square edged fittings rounded off the new bright and fresh look. Props to Val for actually taking photos for this job! 01.01.2022 The Shearwater Resort pool renovation was completed a few weeks ago, see what you think! We supplied and installed the new granite coping tiles around the pool and the mosaic tiles inside the pool. We also carried out some render repairs, spent many hours creating templates for the round wading pool especially where you see the stainless steel security posts which are set out in a curved configuration. There are seventeen of these, so precise holes had to be drilled through t...he curved granite tiles which were then slipped over the posts and into place. The straight side of the pool was relatively easy to tile with the coping tiles. On the far side of the pool, the single bullnose tiles had to be cut down to a 100mm width to just act as a pool edging. A special slip resistant coating was placed behind these tiles by the other contractor. Doing the tiling using the large coping tiles (both straight and curved) as you see in the photos, dramatically reduced the number of tile joints which, besides having a nice aesthetic about it, greatly reduces the chances of water ingress problems through the tile joints. On completion, all tiles and joints were sealed with a penetrating sealer for long term protection.
