I've removed around 20 mm of material to take out the twist... 1.5 mm at a time x 84 passes equals around 1640 passes... leaving me with a finished slab thickness of 40mm... now I'm happy that this jig works but after 4 and a half days on the router I'm pretty over it... destined for an outdoor kitchen... with

15.01.2022 The top is Elm - in two pieces book matched. All knot holes have been clear resin filled and finished in Danish oil - you can stare at the top for hours with it's wonderful figure. The top was machined with a 5 meter radius and 6.2 meter radius respectively to give soft beautiful curves. The legs and sub frame are made from locally grown black wood. I have a love of Danish design and Australian 50 - 60's laminex tables so I combined my love of these shapes into this piece. There is around three weeks work involved in building and finishing with around ten coats of Danish oil...

15.01.2022 SALE!!!! I have to make room in the workshop for a large job so am regretfully selling this beautiful elm and Blackwood dining table... The top is made from two book matched stunning pieces of elm and the rails and legs from black wood... Finished in Danish oil. This piece was based on my love of Danish and European influenced Australian furniture of the 50's and 60's... $2600 or make an offer... Thats $1000 off the original price... 11.01.2022 The stairs are all finished. Im not a huge fan of bamboo... Only fifteen steps and a $240 blade is super blunt. And I wont miss the smell of formaldehyde...

07.01.2022 Some better quality shots of the red gum bench tops for a client in North Fitzroy. I also made the drawer fronts from Huon pine and made the framework for the blue stone fireplace hearth... The slots in the red gum bench tops allow for heat from hydronic heating panels to disperse...
07.01.2022 A throw back to a bookshelf I built a long time ago... The house is now up for sale. I was a bit cheeky and pinched this photo from the Real Estate agent site. Great clients and fun job.
05.01.2022 2 x beautiful dining tables; 3 x 4 seater danish style ash, american oak and steel dining tables; 2 x ash bench seats and 10 x assorted cheese board and cutting boards ready for Saturday and I am about as spent as it gets... photo's to come tomorrow... and a big thank you to my ever patient partner Elaine and our boyzle Sam for their support and encouragement! Hopefully see a few of you on Saturday... and please no pressure to buy - it would just be great to show you guys a few of the pieces that we have been working on... and also a big thank you to the people who have already made this year a possibility...
