25.01.2022 To all those who refuse to sleepwalk through life. We salute you
25.01.2022 As I broke open the door all I saw were legs through the open bedroom doorway. I called out. No answer.... I grabbed the medical kit ready to get to work and as I rounded the corner I quickly realised there was no work that could be done. Looking at the body I would have called four days or so since they passed. Part of me wanted to look away. The other part of me realised this was real life whether I agreed with it or not. Now this post isn't about the graphic nature of the scene I encountered but more about how we can use the rawness of death and decay to wake us from the lives we often delusionally sleep walk through. That in many ways we as humans are nothing more then any other animal and when we go we are in no way immune to what that entails. Often I see within yoga communities and spiritual circles the avoidance of actively facing death as it is. We might talk about it. . We often use spiritual jargon and fancy concepts. But ultimately often it's just a head trip and nothing like the event itself. A great Tibetan teacher, Namkhai Norbu, once said "We are like a candle lit in an open room and at any moment a gust of wind can put us out, and if not out us out then we run out of fuel" "All of a sudden we are dying. We ask at that what have I done? It was all so unexpected". The grim reaper lives on our shoulders screaming at us to wake up before he takes us and all we know. But are we really listening or just distracting ourselves from the opportunity he constantly offers if we are willing to look him square in the eyes?

20.01.2022 On the left American model Kendall Jenner whos bikini shot which recently went viral online. On the right American Astronaut Alyssa Carson who at 19 years old is the youngest person ever to pass all NASAS aerospace tests and will likely be part of the crew who will be the first humans to set foot on Mars. Its not hard to work out who has the most followers and endorsements and income....... But if I was a father it would be the women on the right I would want as my daughter. So maybe its time we stop feeding a beast that will never be satisfied. A beast that often forces young women into constantly using filters on their images leading them to becoming depressed by the fact they don't really look like them in the real world and who often then seek plastic surgery to meet those unrealistic expectations set up by those filters. Its good for none of us. Only the ones who's pockets it's lining by the false and fake idols we are pedaled and blindly accept

15.01.2022 You don't walk on the earth. You are an extension of the earth. The earth birthed you and breathed life into an ecosystem you would survive in.... Exploding stars birthed that very earth that birthed you. You and all other others who walk this planet are just the earth coming to understand itself through consiouness. As there are likely other beings birthed by other planets coming to know themselves. If we are all the earths consiouness which is the cosmos's consiouness then how would you treat one another? The question I pose is how long can we as a species continue this same old narrative of control and fear and oppression and exploitation? If the earth is our mother then so far we must have broken her heart.

11.01.2022 I remember being a child. So full of awe and wonder. So filled with potential and no limits on what I could become. I also remember being a child.... And suffering the fears, insecurities, distorted world views and neurosis's of the adults who brought me up. I think at this very pivotal time in society it's worth asking ourselves what world we are going to leave children and what fears, accepted dysfunctional aspects of society and world views we will impart to them and whether those views, existing structures and fears will ultimately improve their lives

They will forget to tell those they appreciate how much they love them.... Then they will die by all sorts of unseen forces. Car accidents. Heart attacks. Routine medical practises gone wrong. 09.01.2022 I get that facial 'beauty' filters might make us feel more attractive. I understand that they might be fun. But are we buying into and creating an unrealistic expectation for ourselves and children of what 'beauty' is?... Is that example of 'beauty' ultimately damaging for children and other women? In the end are we all just left feeling inadequate so we consume more products because in the real world we don't really look this way?

07.01.2022 How often do we let the animal in us loose? . How often do we coup it all up inside with a fake smile? . How often do we take risks and be truly vulnerable?... . Vulnerability and facing fear opens the door to the experience of being intimate with someone in a way that satisfies both people to the core. . Without vulnerability then that satisfaction becomes more of a hollow feeling, like a McDonald's cheeseburger eaten in a carpark with 5 minutes to spare while scrolling through social media . What we really want is a healthy three course meal that satisfies us deeply. . Many things block vulnerability and tapping into our animal nature in both men and women. . A female friend once said how previous relationships had led her to believe that she needed to hang onto the need to feel unloved because that’s where she still felt some control and couldn't get hurt as she hadnt opened up completely. . Another told me how she couldn't let her raw animal out because of fear to being labelled 'slut' or being too much for a guy to handle. . . So how did we get here? . How did we get lost? . . How, together can men and women get back to this place they both deeply long for and leave the bullshit at the front door and be free? . We are a species that LOVES sex! . Often spiritual traditions downplay this as something bad or 'naughty'. But it's intertwined into our nature and it's VERY VERY powerful. . We often have this suppressed need used against us constantly in advertising and in religion. . Lets have the conversations about sex and what we want. Lets make the time. Lets pull the walls down. Lets release fear and tap into our nature. . Lets have the sex and intimacy we all long for instead of day dreaming about it and playing life safe due to fear. . I love the quote by Keanu Reeves. "None of us is getting out of here alive". . So let's feel what we need to feel before our use by dates. . Some good laughs with some hidden truths we can all often find hard to swallow . 1: A guru = Someone who has overstepped the threshold of self-development into supreme egotism and found a niche market. Carries a flute and has a name you can't pronounce (though his driver's license says Steve) and chants words he doesn’t understand. But interesting tattoos...right? .... 2: A shaman = see above. . 3: Worshipping the Beloved = Classic scenario where a cluster B personality type convinces you at a festival that you are their twin flame, lost for centuries in the ether. If you have never been loved by your primary caregivers, this is paradise on earth as your fear of abandonment gets spanked with a mala on the magical, mystery tour of self-deception. . 4: In the flow = I never commit to anything, especially plans to do anything with anyone, so that I can completely flake out and not take any responsibility for it; ie I didn’t pay my phone bill this month. . 5: Co-creating a retreat/gathering = my borderline personality friends and I have exhausted all other means of making an honest income, and have decided instead to use our social media clout (aka naked butt-cheeks) to radically overcharge a too-large group of saps for 2-14 days of mediocre vegan food, awkward group encounters, and real-world-style sexual politics. . 6: Substance Free Event = Powder drugs are fine but if you bring alcohol, we’ll judge the shit out of you. Tobacco’s cool if you snort it and call it "ceremony" or roll your own. . 7: Speaking My Truth = I reserve the right to be an asshole in this conversation and you must honour it, regardless of how deep my delusion may be. I’ll probably use this phrase every time I don’t want to be called out for my phone bullshit, because it’s all perspective man... See more
