13.01.2022 Please note the following important announcement by Swimming Victoria

12.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Swimming Victoria has just recommended that non-essential training is suspended indefinitely. The club needs to follow these recommendations and therefore we have suspended swimming training until further notice. I understand that this may be difficult for our swimmers to understand, however we have their best interests at heart, and will recommence training as soon as possible. There will be further communication regarding how we can work through this requirement in the next day.

07.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Following yesterdays communication about Covid-19, Swimming Victoria has now changed their advice to swim clubs. The essence of what the new statement says is that - "Clubs that wish to continue training may do so at their own discretion, providing they comply with government restrictions and guidelines. This must be on an opt in basis only, allowing people to make the decision that is right for themselves and their family at this current point in time." ... This is placing the decision and responsibility on the club to make a recommendation. Following this change of advice, the committee needs to determine what the most appropriate response is, keeping the best interests of our swimmers at the forefront of our minds. We will endeavour to make this decision quickly and communicate our position. If any parents have specific thoughts or contributions and would like to be involved in these discussions, please Richard know. Until then, training will remain suspended. Keep safe

03.01.2022 All Juniors Qualification Meet - Shepparton February 23rd. Benalla had a good contingent of swimmers at this meet, including Liam, Orla and Cooper Kidgell, Brianna Slattery, Freya Mount, Isaac and Micah Atkinson, and Annie and Alida Ferguson. 7 of our 9 swimmers qualified for the All Junior Semi-finals to be held at the Aquatic Centre in Melbourne on March 21st .... The swimmers who qualified were - Liam - Fly - 38.65, Back - 38.26, Breast - 47.91, Free - 33.84. Isaac - Back - 47.72, Breast - 49.80, Free - 37.84 Orla - Back - 54.28, and Breast - 1.02.23. Micah - Back - 48.98, and Free - 40.03. Annie - Back - 1.03.75, and Free - 52.73. Brianna - Fly - 47.43, and Back - 45.11 Cooper - Back - 59.82, and Free - 53.96. Bad luck to Freya Mount, whose swimming has improved markedly. However, she was in a fiercely competitive age bracket, with 10 or 11 girls her age competing for finals positions. Alida Ferguson also swam well, but unfortunately missed out on qualifying for the semi-finals this time. Congratulations to all those who competed. It was the first time in 10 years there were no Mailer girls competing at All Juniors. Their presence was missed. Good luck to our swimmers when they hit the pool on March the 28th in Melbourne!!

01.01.2022 Hi Everyone, There is a last minute change to training for Monday (17/1) morning this week. Unfortunately Gary is unable to run the Monday session and has rescheduled this to Tuesday morning at the same time. Apologies for any issues this causes.
