23.01.2022 An important message from the Victorian Government. Regional Victoria, there are only 4 reasons to leave home. -Shopping for food and supplies that you need. -Care and caregiving. -Exercise.... -Work and study if you can’t do it from home. And if you are out - you must wear a face covering. Staying apart, keeps us together. For all current restrictions go to vic.gov.au/coronavirus.

23.01.2022 We're doing a great job as a community to stay safe. Remember, if you have any symptoms, however mild, get tested. For more information about local services and where to get information and help, go to benalla.vic.gov.au/COVID-19

23.01.2022 It's been a tough year, but where would we be without them? We all know community members that help others, contribute to the community, volunteer, mentor, excel in their field or are an inspirational role model. Can you think of someone in Benalla Rural City who deserves to be recognised? This year, as well as our regular categories, the Awards will include a COVID-19 Most Helpful Citizen of the Year, recognising the contribution of residents during the 2020 pandemic.... Nominations for Australia Day awards close Wednesday 2 December, so be sure to submit your application so we can recognise community members who deserve an award. http://ow.ly/FslY50CmgCc

21.01.2022 Benalla Health has advised that the COVID Testing Stations at the Showgrounds and Racecourse have been closed today due to the Heat Policy. Both testing stations will open on Saturday and Sunday between: Showgrounds: 8am to 1pm... Racecourse: 8.30am to 1pm If you feel at all unwell or have even the mildest of symptoms, get tested.

21.01.2022 It makes us happy to see so many people enjoy the new splash park in this hot weather. We’re really sorry, however, that we have to close it from 8pm today for a few days. One of the brand new pumps is just not performing properly and needs replacing. To protect the other pumps and filters, we need to replace it now. Next Friday has a forecast top temp of 41’c yep, hotter than today. We’ll do everything we can to have the splash park running with a properly working pump by then. We’re sorry about this.

20.01.2022 An important message from the Victorian Government. Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions are now in place for regional Victoria. There are only 4 reasons to leave home.... For all current restrictions go to vic.gov.au/coronavirus.

20.01.2022 Concerned residents told us that people weren't picking up after their dogs around Kilfeera Road, Rivergum Avenue and Ironbark Drive. We've installed a dog bad dispenser at the bridge between Rivergum Avenue and Ironbark Drive, Benalla. We hope this helps dog walkers to pick up after their dogs. It's a beautiful part of Benalla - let's keep it that way.

12.01.2022 You know how they say build a bridge and get over it ? well this one is good to go under when the light is right Phillip Rivers took this photo of the Bena...lla Monash Bridge. He also looked into its significant history and it is an early reinforced concrete girder road bridge and a major civil engineering work. At the time of its construction it was the largest bridge of its kind in Australia, and it still remains the second largest both in total length and length of span of the reinforced concrete bridges built before World War II in Victoria and probably Australia. Constructed by Reinforced Concrete & Monier Pipe Construction Co. of which Mr John Monash (later Sir John) was a director and chief design engineer, and was responsible for the design of this bridge, Mr Percy Fairway of the company prepared the working drawings. Thanks Phillip for the and a little more about the place we love to call home - the Goulburn Murray. If you have a photo to share we would love to see your view of the world too, post here See more
