25.01.2022 Due to the nature of COVID-19, in recent times we’d taken a break from face-to-face skills maintenance and training to focus only on responding to emergencies and being there for our community. From next week, you might see us back out training in small groups to ensure we have the essential skills and capability required to respond. Our crews are following all the COVIDSafe principles, wearing masks and working hard to ensure we are there for our community.... For information on how to prepare your home or business for emergencies (especially with high rainfall forecast for spring), visit: https://www.ses.vic.gov.au/get-ready For SES flood and storm assistance, call 132 500 For life-saving emergency response, call 000

25.01.2022 Yesterday the Bureau of Meteorology announced that La Nina was confirmed for 2020 - So what is La Nina? For us, a La Nina means we’ll see more rain than normal and with it a higher risk of flash and riverine flooding. There are some similarities in this weather outlook to 2016. In 2010/2011, during a La Nina, 140 townships, 68,000 properties and 7,500 people were impacted by flooding across Victoria, and certainly people in the North East will recall significant floods in t...hose years. We know that people who take the time to plan for emergencies will think more clearly and make better decisions when an emergency happens. After everything we’ve been through in 2020 we need you, the community to prepare for possible flooding
