25.01.2022 Providing access and providing value. Our client required scaffolding access for installing services and maintenance updates. Instead of scaffolding the entire bridge, the Benchmark Scaffolding team designed and built a mobile scaffold on tracks to move along the length of the bridge.... Understanding our client's needs and having experience with this methodology saved considerable time and money with this project. Great work team! #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #mobile #scaffold #bridge #maintenance

23.01.2022 With some thought and planning, the Benchmark Scaffolding team used concrete blocks to add weight to the inboard of the scaffold bay to allow the scaffolding to be suspended over the side of the bridge. All while maintaining a heavy duty load rating on the suspended scaffolding bays. The scaffolding bay was also designed to be mobile and move easily along the tracks installed on top of the existing bridge structure. By making the scaffold mobile and adding concrete ballast to... assist in the design, the structure was able to be installed efficiently in 6 hours with only 3 team members. This eliminated the need to install scaffold the entire length of the bridge. By adding a few tonnes of extra weight to the scaffold, the overall amount of scaffolding required was reduced by 20 tonnes. What are some of the innovative ways you have used weight to impact how scaffold can perform? Please share your success. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffold #concrete #ballast #design #engineering

22.01.2022 We were contacted as a last resort for this project as the 2 other contractors said it wasn't possible. Our client wanted to access the entire underside of their 4000m2 ceiling to replace the existing panels with a new suspended ceiling. The difficulty was the roof was over the top of a operational paper plant that could not be impacted or delayed in anyway.... The design & engineering team used their experience and came up with an intelligent solution to overcome this. The scaffolding was assembled on the ground and lifted onto the existing gantry crane rails. The specially designed heavy duty bogey's enabled the scaffolding to move freely along the crane rails and provided the access needed for the entire ceiling. Great outcome for everyone involved! #safetyfirst #settingthebechmark #scaffolding #gantry

21.01.2022 Access was required for structural repairs to a conveyor at a mine in Western Queensland. We designed and installed the scaffold structure on the 3 most important things when working in the mining industry - safety, time, and cost. Understanding that breakdowns and delays are expensive, the scaffold structure was built to use the least amount of required equipment.... This allowed us to get in and get out as quickly as possible. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #mining #repairs #conveyor

18.01.2022 Project Highlight. The Benchmark team were tasked with providing access for a bridge refurbishment in Western Queensland. All work was completed safely, on time, and under budget.... Well done to everyone involved. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #bridgeconstruction

17.01.2022 Innovation at its best. Instead of scaffolding the whole underside of the bridge, the Benchmark Scaffolding team built a mobile structure that could access the entire length of the bridge. Using chain driven girder trolleys to move the scaffold structure up and down the bridge, provided access to all work areas without the time and costs associated with scaffolding the full bridge.... Nice work team. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #bridges #design #engineering

15.01.2022 Merinda Bridge, Bowen. We were tasked with providing access and edge protection to remove existing bridge decks and to accommodate the installation of a new bridge. Everything had to be scheduled and built around exact timeframes due to the strict track closure conditions.... The project was completed safely, on time and under budget. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #bridges

15.01.2022 Need access but can't use a EWP? No worries, just build a craneable and cantilevered scaffold structure to solve the problem. Due to the restraints with the exit stairwells below, this structure was used to access and reinforce the concrete tilt panels.... The craneable structure was able to be moved along the full face of the building saving our client both time and money. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #craneable #scaffolding

13.01.2022 Very tidy project from the Benchmark Scaffolding site team! Using Layher’s 360-degree rosette allows us to build scaffolding around circular tanks in half the amount of time compared to traditional tube and fitting. Using half the amount of equipment in half the amount of time equals less costs for another happy customer.... #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #tanks #site #team #design #engineering

12.01.2022 The Benchmark Scaffolding team were tasked with accessing the inside of a 18 meter dam wall at short notice. We also had to be mindful of the working at heights and confined space risks. A risk assessment was completed which allowed the design team to build the scaffolding horizontally on the ground and then lift it vertically inside the concrete structure.... This method eliminated all working at heights and confined space risks for our work force. The end result was the scaffold was able to be installed quickly and efficiently compared to traditional methods. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #design #engineering

09.01.2022 Keeping the public safe. If you have the right equipment and can think outside the box, scaffolding can be used for a wide variety of jobs. With this project we had a lot of design and engineering discussions with the client to alleviate safety concerns and provide the best outcome for everyone involved.... Other things considered during the planning phase included, sourcing the right flooring materials to withstand the elements and the amount of foot traffic it was going to experience for the extended period it was up. It always pays to spend more time and resources during the planning phase so there are no surprises during construction. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #publicaccess

07.01.2022 Providing access inside an active fertiliser plant. We were tasked with providing scaffolding access to the roof of this building for blast and paint repairs. The Benchmark Scaffolding design team did a great job designing the project to provide as much room as possible under the scaffold for operations to continue as normal.... #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #design #plant #roof #repairs

07.01.2022 Remember these days? When concerts and events were a normal occurrence on the calendar. As with all public compliant projects, it is essential to have a clear scope of works and good communication during the planning phase.... With this Eminem concert it was critical we understood how many people were expected, the traffic flow, and the weight and load capacity. These public compliant access stairs look great and we look forward to the time when they can be in regular use again. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #compliant #stairs

05.01.2022 Not a bad view for the Benchmark Scaffolding team! Access was required on top of a hotel in Broadbeach for blast and paint repairs. Lucky for the guys the service lift was available.... #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #access

04.01.2022 How about installing scaffold in the middle of a rainforest in Far North Queensland, with no access by road. Even using a helicopter wasn’t an option due to the dense rainforest environment. So, the Benchmark Scaffolding design team together with the Skyrail engineers decided to transport the scaffolding on specially designed frames to the top of the range. Which was located 545m above sea level.... Thinking outside the box and providing a solution based outcome, allowed us to complete the project and complete the same job with our client 12 months later. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #fnq #skyrail #access #rainforest

04.01.2022 It doesn’t matter where the job is, the Benchmark Scaffolding team will find a way. Even if the project is on the other side of the country and we have to helicopter our scaffold in. Nothing is impossible!... Careful planning and design work allowed us to use the least amount of equipment possible, which reduced the transportation costs significantly. Think you have a difficult job in a difficult location? Give us a call. #benchmark #scaffolding #helicopter #design #lighthouse #settingthebenchmark

04.01.2022 Well done to our design and engineering team for this nice looking project! They designed a hexagon base structure which significantly reduced the scaffold tonnage needed to build the structure. This allowed us to reduce our time on site, minimise our material handling and safety issues, and pass on cost savings to our client.... Win, win for everyone involved. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #design #engineering

03.01.2022 There are always constraints and difficulties with all scaffolding projects. Our job is to find solutions to these constraints and solve our customers problems. With this project our client couldn’t build traditional ground up scaffolding due to the close proximity of the neighboring properties.... The Benchmark design and engineering team decided to build several support scaffolding bays on the roof and cantilever a structural universal beam over the edge of the property to create a monorail system. The team then installed a 12m swing stage scaffold which allowed our client to access the full external perimeter of the building without impacting any neighboring properties. This solution reduced the build time by 4 days and reduced the scaffolding tonnage from 41 to 3.2 tonnes. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #swingstage

02.01.2022 The Benchmark Scaffolding team were on the ball for this emergency breakdown job. We were required to provide scaffolding to the underside of an active export facility. Due to our relationship with the client and our experience, we were able to successfully deliver the required scope of works.... Within 8 hours of the breakdown, the repairs were made, the scaffolding was removed, and operations were back to normal. Outstanding effort from everyone involved. #safetyfirst #settingthebenchmark #scaffolding #experience
