22.01.2022 Artists' postcards for political protest via PrimaryInformation. http://www.primaryinformation.org/product-catego/postcards/ We initiated this series of artists' postcards in the wake of the Trump administration, spurred by the strong belief that images accompanying civic engagement and protest should be created by artists. Since publishing the first round in May, we have distributed more than 4,200 postcards and will continue to launch new rounds of postcards each month ...for the foreseeable future. Primary Information has been producing artists' books for ten years and part of our mission has been to continue the tradition begun in the 1960s of creating a space and form for art to be distributed into the world beyond our cultural capitals. Postcards have long been a part of that tradition, with artists engaging with the form for well over 50 years now. While we see this project as a continuation of that very important tradition, we also see the need to double down on this form as a political space embedded with the urgency, diversity, and complexity of voices that are the hallmark of our times. Who better to do this than artists?

21.01.2022 Benchpress is moving from West Perth to North Perth this week where we will be sharing a residential space with Adult Contemporary and Magnolias. Surprisingly, this is our seventh move between studio spaces and one self-storage facility since we started in 2010. Please join us to help celebrate and to fundraise for the end of our Cleaver Street lease and our current move at the EOB B2B film double on Sunday night. All welcome!

21.01.2022 Pamela Rosenkranz for Swiss Post: To celebrate the 56th Art Biennale in Venice, the artist Pamela Rosenkranz, born in the Canton of Uri in 1979, is making skin a theme in the Swiss pavilion in her design for this years version of the stamp which has accompanied the Biennale since 2010. The special stamp represents a piece of the largest functional organ in the human body and features a tactile surface, modelled on skin. With a face value of 1 franc, it is available as a single stamp, a block of four or a sheetlet with ten stamps.

07.01.2022 A thousand trees have been planted in Nordmarka, a forest just outside Oslo, which will supply paper for a special anthology of books to be printed in 100 years time. Between now and then, one writer every year will contribute a text, with the writings held in trust, unpublished, until 2114. Tending the forest and ensuring its preservation for the 100-year duration of the artwork finds a conceptual counterpoint in the invitation extended to each writer: to conceive and produce a work in the hope of finding a receptive reader in an unknown future.

06.01.2022 Normal images for printing are specified in the CMYK color space. However, it is also possible to reproduce images by only using two or three non-CMYK colors. Such special colors are commonly called spot colors. Each spot color requires a separate printing plate and color separation. Color Library provides special color profiles that produce color separations from a normal RGB (or CMYK) image for spot colors such as PANTONE colors and even metallic, neon or pastel colors. W...ith Color Library, you can convert and print images using two, three, four, or five spot colors of your choice. Color Library uses the PANTONE Matching System, but can be manually adapted for other types of ink. Once your images are converted, you can export them to PDF using Adobe InDesign. The files are then ready to be printed using offset, silkscreen, Risograph, or any other printing technology.
