25.01.2022 A great snapshot into the City of Greater Bendigo carbon emission and breakdown. Let's build community owned renewable energy to power our electricity (57% of emissions), get off gas (10% of emissions) by converting heating and cooking to electricity generated from renewables and reduce car use (26% of emissions) by walking, cycling and taking public transport and buying EVs. In which areas are you contributing to reducing emissions?... Renewable energy owned by local community members keeps money local and creates local jobs.

19.01.2022 Here is a great simple explanation video of the difference between Power and Energy. It's important to understand the very basics which willl help you to use less Power, less Energy and thus spend less Money.

18.01.2022 We love Discovery as does NHC Solar Bendigo. Please support the final donation fundraising stage of this project. We are getting close to installation - but the magnitude of donations will affect how big and benefitting the solar system will be!

18.01.2022 A plan that envisions the development of thousands of community-owned renewable power stations dotted throughout Australia balancing the grid and energising regional economies is being prepared for delivery to the Morrison government next month. Community energy is where everyday people develop, build or benefit from an energy project like a solar installation, a wind farm or a large battery, Helen Haines, Federal Member for Indi said. It’s about building more renewables in regional Australia and making sure everyday people benefit.

18.01.2022 Discovery Centre Bendigo needs you! They are 67% of the way to the Stage 1 target and need a further 28 solar panel donations to get there. Please help get rid of their electricity bills completely and wipe out the related carbon emissions. Your gift will be one that keeps on giving and giving and giving - generating power and savings everyday for the next 25+ years!!... https://discovery.asn.au/product/donate/ It's less than 10 days to the end of the financial year and donations are tax deductible. Please don't delay - donate online today! Together we can reach the target by 30 June.

17.01.2022 Did you know that it is cleaner and likely cheaper to heat your home with your reverse cycle AC unit (heat pump) if it is an efficient unit? Plan appliance replacements and renovations to get your house off polluting and expensive gas completely. Going "all electric" will save around $400 per year just from not paying the daily gas service fee alone! A major further benefit of powering our homes, businesses and community with electricity is that it can be generated from loc...al community owed and community benefiting solar PV. Start on or continue the journey to go all-electric today. Please comment below as to what you have done, are doing or are planning to do to move to all-electric and get off gas?

16.01.2022 Just a short walk from the world’s biggest coal port, the Newcastle community has banded together to help bowling clubs under financial stress go solar, saving them money on their energy bills and reducing their carbon footprint.

16.01.2022 Thanks to ESE Consulting who have donated a solar panel to the Discovery Centre Bendigo project. 59 of 84 panels have now been donated for stage 1 totaling $17...,747. Please community - a further minimum of 25 panels are required to proceed with an installation. The Community Power Hub Bendigo would love to see more families, businesses and organisations donate one or more panels to support this awesome science education centre and iconic Bendigo attraction incl the tallest vertical slide in the southern hemisphere! We would love to see the Discovery Centre also get a battery storage unit and electric vehicle change point but lots more panel donations are required. Donate today: https://discovery.asn.au/product/donate/

15.01.2022 1.8 million jobs could be created in Australia driven by building lots of renewable energy and powering new and expanded industries with that energy. Australia could become a genuine renewable energy superpower. Would we like a piece of this clean, green and job creating dream? It can be done. Let's do it!

15.01.2022 A huge thank you to Alastair and Brenda who donated TWO! Solar panels to Discovery Centre Bendigo's solar panel campaign. If you are feeling as generous as Alistair and Brenda you can check out https://discovery.asn.au/product/donate to find out how you can support Discovery in its mission to become greener. 14.01.2022 Great news for Bendigo and well done Bendigo Sustainability Group - BSG. On the journey to much more and bigger community owned and benefitting renewable energy.

12.01.2022 The Bendigo Sustainability Group - BSG has received a recognition certificate from the CEO of Sustainability Victoria for the hosting and delivery of the Community Power Hub Bendigo pilot program over now the last three years. It has been a wonderful program with fantastic outcomes delivering between 13 and 72 to 1 multiplier on the government $ investment. Check out www.communitypowerhub.com.au for more information and for the formal review of the program.... Here's hoping we are funded to continue so we can deliver renewable energy local jobs, a cleaner environment and keep more of our energy money staying local. Thanks to all who have supported, participated, hosted, donated, expressed interest in local investment and so much more.

12.01.2022 "A renewables-led economic recovery will create almost three times as many jobs as a fossil-fuel-led recovery, according to a report by economic consultancy Ernst and Young (EY)." So why wouldn't we go renewables? Come on Governments. Support renewables and in particularly support community owned and community benefiting renewables like the the Community Power Hub Bendigo Community Power Hub Latrobe Valley, Ballarat Community Power Hub BREAZE - Ballarat Renewable Energy and Zero Emissions). With Coalition for Community Energy.

10.01.2022 The Discovery Centre Bendigo wants to be "walking on sunshine" as per this cool little video they did. Please support their project and future by donating a solar panel here: http://www.discovery.asn.au/donate

09.01.2022 17 solar panels donated by an very very generous community member Bill to the Discovery Centre Bendigo project. The generosity of some people is truly amazing. :-) Donations can be made at the link below: http://www.discovery.asn.au/donate

09.01.2022 Solar is booming which is great - Vic will have a rush to catch-up when Melb installers are free to operate on occupied homes again. It is really important that individuals, families, businesses and community own as much of our future / new electricity generation as possible. Keeping money and jobs local.

09.01.2022 Great to see the Victorian Government and Lily D'Ambrosio supporting electric vehicle charging for regional Victoria and the Loddon Mallee Region. The future is electric! Well done to the Central Victorian Greenhouse Alliance for developing this project.

08.01.2022 Great work all Australian States and Territories - doing their heavy lifting.

07.01.2022 After a bit of a recess, the request for donations to add more solar (and hopefully a battery and an EV charge point) for the Discovery Centre Bendigo is underway again! Please consider donating a panel to the system. We presently need 117 more to get to the Stage 2 total. Donations can be made here: https://discovery.asn.au/product/donate/

05.01.2022 Great news for Victorians and our future power supply. But still looking for community based renewables to be funded to provide the biggest benefits to locals and create ongoing local jobs.

05.01.2022 Thanks Allan Accounting & Tax Solution who has donated the 52nd solar panel to the Discovery Centre Bendigo solar, battery and electric vehicle charge point project. Only 116 to go - will you, your family or your business sponsor one or more of the remaining panels? Donations are tax deductible so as the end of the financial year approaches, now is a great time to contribute to this great Explore Bendigo science based not-for-profit educational institution.
