22.01.2022 Is it a Scam? Story: You get a phone call. The caller says they’re from the ATO. They want you to pay a debt (which you know nothing about), or are asking for your personal details. But it doesn’t seem quite right. Maybe the caller: is aggressive... threatens that if you don’t pay you will be arrested and sent to jail, or tries to make you call another number outside normal business hours. Or maybe you have received an email or SMS offering you a tax refund or asking for personal details, but it just smells wrong. If they ask you to pay with ITunes cards or any other gift card, you can guarantee it’s a scam. What to do if you think it is a scam? You need to check it out. If you get a phone call, ask the caller for: their full name and extension number their team leader’s full name and extension number. Then call the ATO on 1800 008 540 to verify that the caller is from the ATO. Do not ring any number other than the one below. If you receive an email or SMS, do not open any attachments or hyperlinks. You can report the email by forwarding the whole email to the ATO at Report email fraud. You should then delete the email or SMS. You can also call the ATO on 1800 008 540 to report the email or SMS. See more

16.01.2022 Just letting you know that the ATO has been inundated with returns due to their generous offer of $1000 to some lucky tax payers. Rest assured if I have lodged your return then I have done my part and the rest is in ATO hands, so there could be a delay in getting your refund. Sorry, I can’t speed up the process.

10.01.2022 Welcome to the silly season of tax time, already l am inundated via post, email and phone and clients visiting the office here. Please be patient and understanding as I attend each return in order of receiving and there is no queue jumping. If you are concerned that I may not have received your info, please just send me a text or message me here and I will reply back as soon as I get a moment to spare. Up until today I had 1000 emails, no exaggeration. Business this time of the year is usually mad crazy for the first 8 weeks and then starts to calm down.
