21.01.2022 June 17 2019 _Geoffrey Graham The last meeting before our new committee and a huge thank you to the outgoing committee and especially Brian Rice who stepped in to the President's role & did a splendid job. Tonight we were graced with great speeches from Kim(with the assistance of her kangaroo), Eldo (remote monitoring of Aero derivative turbines) and Thileepan, who stunned us with his talk on the meaning of life including references to Viktor Frankl

18.01.2022 PUBLIC SPEAKING? YES, SOME PEOPLE DO IT FOR FUN! Congrats to Bendigo's Ben MacEllen, who's taken first place in the International Speech category at the Northe...rn Division D73 Toastmasters Speech Contest! This propels him through to the District 73 Contest to be held in Tasmania in May. There, he will compete in the International Speech contest against six other Toastmasters; the winner will then proceed to the Semi-Finals in Chicago. Ben, who is also the President of the Bendigo branch of Toastmasters, joined the club in 2016 in preparation for giving a speech at an international conference. What I really enjoy about Bendigo Toastmasters is the supportive environment and friendship, he said, Whether you’re just looking to gain some confidence with public speaking, or you have specific personal or career goals, Toastmasters can really help. Bendigo Toastmasters Club meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month, at the Long Gully Community Centre (23-29 Havilah Rd, Long Gully) at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. 16.01.2022 May 7th from Geoffrey. It was a brisk night on our most recent meeting, but a superb evening for a Toastmasters. Preceded by an executive meeting- Linda set the pace with her usual efficiency. Under a little pressure, members always seem to rise to the occasion. Sheree with her impromptu inspiration speech- Ben with his usual efficiency, Julie as Toastmaster and Miriam as general evaluator. The theme for the night was Lost socks- and the table topics Master, Susan did a super...b job and showed the way for the table topics speakers to do rather stunning talks. Imagination went wild and along with great speaking skills all made for a brilliant night. The variety and level of expertise from the speakers for the night was not to be missed. Best table topic for the night was Miriam the best speech - Linda and yours truly was awarded the Best evaluator for the night. We wish president Ben all the best for his sojourn to Tasmania for the next round of the international competition. We know he will do Bendigo proud. See more

14.01.2022 Toastmasters Bendigo had a good start on January 21 our first meeting for 2019. I think the biggest number of guests/visitors we had for a long time they included Sharon and Darren, Jenny, John, Andrea and Hal. The topic for the night was food which led to a real bunfight a topic close to our hearts. Best prepared speech was from Linda, Geoffrey and Brian tied for Best evaluator, and 2 visitors- Hal and John tied for best table topic. Overall a good fun night to start the year.

14.01.2022 Report for Meeting July 1 -2019. Our first night with Thileepan at the helm and an excellent turnout for the night. Kim inspired us with reasons why music was so essential to us; Andrew as round Robin master made us think of how we personally related to instruments. James made us think very hard with our table topics. Linda did a specialty speech transatlantic on reading out loud; Brian R did a fascinating special bread of the people. We had 2 visitors: Marcus and Charlie; and Susan and Brian Day did typically great performances as Toastmaster, and general evaluator. On the night Kim was best table topic, Brian R best speech and Geoffrey Best evaluator-well done everyone -

10.01.2022 A terrific piece by Tyrone Kennedy at WIN News Bendigo, featuring local toastmasters Ben MacEllen, Geoffrey Graham, Julie Green, Miriam Casas, and Brian Day. Bendigo Toastmasters Club meets every 1st & 3rd Monday at the Long Gully Community Centre, 23 Havilah Road at 7.15pm for a 7.30pm start. Guests most welcome.

10.01.2022 A little late with the report from April 16 Toastmasters. Another great night. Best prepared speech Julie. Caroline got a double with best evaluator and best table topic and I picked up the Pres's award for a talk I did at Essendon the week before.

09.01.2022 May 21st- It seems every Toastmasters meeting is a special meeting. President Ben was away celebrating his wonderful win at the Hobart TM competition, and the next round will be the semifinals at Chicago. So, as a club here at Bendigo, we are thrilled that Ben keeps laying them in the aisles. And now the next planning phase comes into fruition i.e. Getting Ben to Chicago. Miriam very adequately filled in for Ben at our meeting with Susan taking on the Toastmaster role in typ...ical flamboyant style. Brian Day did an impromptu speech on the old man in the mirror which brought on a moment of reflection for us all. The question to ponder who am I really? Linda did a very appropriate talk on Facebook with its multitude of repercussions. Brian Rice as table topics Master came up with some curly ones that really tested our members. Carolyn as general evaluator was most efficient, and the best speech of the night was picked up by Linda with Kim as best evaluator and best table topic Susan. Welcome to another newbie, Mike, and when we consider how many people we have on a night the meeting had a great feel of inclusion with everybody having a go at something on the night. Our next meeting will be on June 4 and will be a very special meeting. This will mark 20 years since Bendigo Toastmasters was formed and we will combine this with celebrating Ben’s win at Tassy. Members are reminded to please bring a plate preferably with something on it- cheers Geoffrey. See more

07.01.2022 From Geoffrey Graham An impressive meeting on July 15 with Pres Thileepan at the helm. An impressive inspirational Speaker, Eldo; James ran the round Robin and Eldo ran the table topics. The 3 speakers tonight were Geoffrey, Julie and Lou (with an impressive talk on pearly beads). Best evaluator tonight was Susan, best table topic Linda and best speech from Julie. Well done everybody.
