21.01.2022 The BUA in conjunction with the BJFL today ran a mentoring program throughout the Under 12 BJFL competition. This is the first week of what we hope will be a 10 week program (if COVID allows). Eight umpires participated in matches today. Thank you to Mark Prince from Eyecare Plus for his support and sponsorship of this program and thank you to the senior umpires who also took on the mentoring roles. We hope that this will assist with the development of junior umpires runnin...g as field umpires in the BJFL competitions going forward. A great initiative by all involved.

17.01.2022 We are all missing football at this time, players, coaches and umpires alike. But today we are blessed to have our country because of those who fought for us and we honour them on this day. Lest we Forget.

17.01.2022 Until further notice, the BUA will not be conducting any group training sessions. The health and welfare of our members is paramount to the BUA Board. As you will all be aware the current situation around Covid-19 is changing rapidly and in a co-ordinated response with the AFL and AFLCV, the BUA Board will immediately be implementing the following the recommendations as precautionary measures for umpiring in the short term... For our members, where possible training schedules will be provided by YouTube, Email and SMS. You are required to train separately to limit contact with other umpires. Umpires will continue to service community football as required with additional precautions, so please see our member page or your member email for details. To our football community, please stay safe and be considerate of others.

05.01.2022 Congratulations Dave! Our life member and former BUA President was honored in today's local paper today. Loyal to Eaglehawk in the CFA, Tennis and football, Dave was also a bookies penciller but worked for the SEC as a meter reader.

04.01.2022 A great read from our former umpire John Palmer who boundary umpired with the BUA from 2000 to 2018. I remind you that he's now 62, that means he ran the boundary from age 52 to 60! Always a positive spirit.

04.01.2022 Vale Peter Crone. A strong supporter of the BUA, he was big in BJFL and Strathfieldsaye football club and umpired juniors for us. His sons Harrison and Xavier also umpired on the boundary in their younger years. Peter bravely battled MND. The BUA members send their condolences to his wife Nicole, and family.
