14.01.2022 We are excited to announce that all Victorian Village Cinema locations will reopen on November 12! We can’t thank those who have supported us during the closure period enough. Loud and passionate voices allowed us to continue dialogue with the Victorian Government, leading to an approved COVID-Safe Cinema plan. We are grateful to the Victorian Government for welcoming these conversations and allowing all cinemas to reopen. The magic of the big screen has been sorely missed by... so many people during months of isolation. Countless movie-lovers have reached out to tell us how much the cinema experience means to them, we can’t wait to welcome you all back to reconnect with your loved ones at the movies. The reopening also means that thousands of dedicated employees will return to work after eight months of closure. To say we’re ready for a giant popcorn is an understatement. 12.01.2022 Victoria, we need your help. Our cinemas have been bombarded with questions about a reopening date, and we hear you. Unfortunately, Victorian cinemas are curren...tly excluded from the Victorian Government’s reopening roadmap. In every state in Australia, including Victoria in June, cinemas have been recognised as a comparatively safe environment alongside hospitality, retail and gyms. Globally, there have been no confirmed cases traced back to cinema-going. Our cinemas are prepared and ready to open safely. The focus is to welcome back passionate movie lovers and 2,000 dedicated staff back into the workforce. And, we’re ready to finally see Tenet on the big screen. Cinemas are an important part of our community, and sharing stories is integral to how we connect with one another. After months of lockdown, the opportunity to reconnect is an experience that many Victorians sorely need.
