24.01.2022 Have your pets ever had Acupuncture or Chinese Herbs? What were your experiences? Over 20 years ago, my Vet brother and the 3rd year students that year, were to...ld by their University Professor at UQ, that the best treatment for dogs with hip dysplasia, was Acupuncture. Traditional Chinese veterinary medicine (TCVM) has been practiced on animals for thousands of years. For nearly 3,000 years, from the Zhou dynasty and the reign of Emperor Mu around 930 B.C., up until the Yuan dynasty of the 14th century, Chinese medicine was used sparingly on large animals. Much of the focus was on the treatment of horses since they were so essential to the military. In more modern times it has been used increasingly on pet animals. Acupuncture is one of the five branches of TCVM. Acupuncture remained a major interest in veterinary medicine for centuries. Its use for dogs was first described in the Tang Dynasty. www.acupuncture.org.au Join us on Facebook, Instagram & Twitter. 17.01.2022 Autumn is the season associated with the Lung... i love to make thyme and rosemary pesto to help keep the lungs clear. Ingredients: thyme, rosemary, pepper, cay...enne pepper, olive oiil, tiny bit of sesame oil, bit of manuka honey, pine nuts, cashews and a few apricot kernels (this are very bitter but in TCM they are known as 'xing ren' and they help the lung descend.. i.e. stop wheeze. They also contain B17 which has a range of health benefits.). A great pesto to protect and also detox the lungs. Have it with your avocado on toast! See more

02.01.2022 Researchers find acupuncture combined with tuina massage more effective for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis than ibuprofen. Across two independent studies,... researchers made several important findings. One important discovery is that acupuncture plus tuina produces superior treatment outcomes compared with oral intake of ibuprofen (a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug). Keep reading in THE LINK BELOW, you may find some shocking information about ibuprofen therapy that may make you reconsider long-term exposure to the drug. An advantage of acupuncture and tuina therapy is that they do not cause adverse effects to the endocrine system and gastrointestinal tract. The advantage of drug therapy is that it is readily accessible and portable. Based on the data, access to acupuncture and tuina care is a vital issue for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis for two important reasons. Acupuncture and tuina alleviate pain and inflammation but also prevent dependence on the long-term use of medications that may cause deleterious effects. Patients are advised to consult with local licensed acupuncturists to learn more.
