25.01.2022 Hi Goers! A quick update in response to the positive news this morning that the Bendigo area will begin to open up slowly and steadily from midnight tomorrow. The nuts and bolts are still a little unclear so at this stage we ask everyone to be ready to go, as the coaches and committee work very hard to organise our plans to commence training. Please keep in mind that we will be strongly guided by directions from the BDCA and most likely Cricket Victoria, and there is no d...oubt that training will not be as per normal to begin with at least. Rest assured we will be doing all we can to make sure it will be fun and enjoyable for all, whatever requirements we are expected to meet. In the meantime, we have some great news to share, with James Seymour and his Waratah Warriors Cricket Club teammates including fellow BDCA export Isaac Conway winning through to the Darwin Cricket Association grand final this weekend. Both boys have been in sparkling form through the winter, with Jimmy cracking a ton in the semi-final. Good luck this weekend fellas!

25.01.2022 The committee can advise that we will be holding our AGM on Sunday 19th of July at North Bendigo Social Rooms. Arrival will be from 10:30am for an approx. 10:45am start. Due to the current restrictions/guidelines you MUST advise Travis Windridge if you will be attending the AGM by Wednesday 15th of July so we can make sure were conducting the AGM within the guidelines. You will not be able to just turn up on the day. The positions on the committee are all available for other...s to apply for in particular the Presidents and Secretary role are required to be filled on the day of the AGM. Those who have interest in any of the positions on the committee or joining the general committee please contact Travis Windridge on 0419110417 or [email protected]

23.01.2022 Good to see we are not being forgotten during a tough time for all. Make sure you put your name to Lisa Chesters MP s petition and help ensure North Bendigo / Lead Advisory Oval has a facility that meets the needs of ALL of our players, and all of the local user groups.

23.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/pg/BendigoCC/photos/?tab=album&album_id=4571872206186190 Its taken a while but an album has been created with photographs taken in late March to celebrate the great achievement of the Under 18s being premiers in 2019/20. Whilst there sadly wasnt a Grand Final played, the boys were the highest ranked side after the semis, and it would be a brave person to suggest they wouldnt have continued their winning ways after such a strong performance in Week... 1 of the finals. Congratulations again to all the players, and coaches Bailey Goodwin and Tim Shanahan. Jeff Bothe was also a great source of support through the season. Go Goers!

22.01.2022 The BDCA 2019/20 awards were announced online last week as we continue to work through the lockdown. Congratulations to the Goers recognised for their outstanding seasons - were very proud of you and cant wait to see what you produce in 2020/21! Ren Doyle Amy Ryan Lindsay Simpson Kyle Humphrys Xav Ryan Edward Spark & Swanny! Updated : now correct, get liking again please!

21.01.2022 Whispers around that club legend and life member Mark Chicken Ryan has reached a milestone today and racked up a stylish 50. Our friend Mr Covid means celebrations (for now) are pretty low-key, so heres your chance to give him a shout out on a special day. Happy Birthday Chicken - now double it up! 20.01.2022 Whilst we cannot be there in person as we would so dearly wish to be, we will be able to farewell our treasured friend and clubmate Jye tomorrow through the stream provided by Napier Park Funerals. We all know Jye will be with us when we take to the field this summer, and we will ensure this is recognised when we go into battle in Round One. Please get in touch with the club if you are battling in any way as we have been reached out to by some amazing community organisations ...offering their services if anyone feels they need a little help. And as always, please keep Jye's wonderful family in your thoughts now and into the future. Thank you to North Bendigo FNC Official for providing the image below, and graciously including all local sports clubs Jye has touched during his memorable life.

20.01.2022 And season 2020/21 is away......... remembering Jye today knowing his spirit is with us always. We miss you mate

20.01.2022 Here it is ladies and gentleman. Not quite The Front Bar but as close as you could get. Our Champion Players for 2019/20 revealed. Enjoy!

19.01.2022 Fantastic news and we hope to see plenty of Goers get along to support our generous sponsor. It's been way, way too long!

18.01.2022 https://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au//north-bendigo-oval/ Looking forward to a shower after the game this season gang? In all seriousness if any reminder was needed this is the dire situation we face with our current facilities, and I guess some good news is that it is finally getting some attention in the wider community. Lets hope that leads to action.... In the meantime, we need to make sure we are ready to contribute when called upon and with only a week to go, please get your tickets in the Play for Purpose raffle. We will receive $5 for every ticket purchased and the prizes are many & well worth winning. Purchase at the link below, thank you! https://playforpurpose.com.au/bendigo_cc

17.01.2022 Gday Goers, hope everyones well. Just a reminder that the Play For Purpose raffle (which will be a very important fundraiser for the club moving forward) is open & available for ticket purchase in the next draw. Unlike similar raffles in the past, Play for Purpose continues on each quarter, providing us great ongoing assistance during these tough times. Once again first prize is $250,000 in gold bullion, and sales close 23rd September. I reckon many of us are regular lotto players, so why not make this one too, whilst knowing even a losing ticket is providing great assistance to Bendigo CC. Thanks so much for your support https://playforpurpose.com.au/sports/bendigo_cc

16.01.2022 I'll personally pay the fine for our girls gathered together for a pic after their game today which was a ripper. The reigning premiers - the Goers - had a good win, but it was quality all the way as our female players played some sensational cricket in their first hit out for 20/21. Super stuff ladies, and once again you are leading the way for the BCC - super proud of you!

16.01.2022 Thanks very much to the anonymous donor who (no doubt inspired by last nights news story on legend Gary Piggott) dug through their archives and dusted off an old BDCA scorecard from the 1993/94 season. The legend himself peeled off a lazy 74 dominating an opening 129 run stand for the Bendigo Cricket Club 3rd XI. A target of 210 should have proved a challenge however (sadly?) Sandhurst Cricket Club were able to chase down the runs the following week. Having the Dragons 7/183 I imagine the Goers began to fancy their chances. However I understand a young keeper joined centurion Cadzow at the crease to get Sandhurst across the line who then batted on for a relatively comfortable win. Something about that name seems vaguely familiar. Any ideas Liam Gaskell? Aaah memories. Bad luck Gaz, you cant do it on your own.

15.01.2022 The Bendigo CC committee met this morning, quite excited to discuss pre-season training dates and possible early season social events and the like and then . . . the 2.30 pm announcements came It does appear a bit of a set-back but no doubt we all share a very common goal; to do our bit for the community so we can be through with these unfortunate but necessary restrictions, and get back to the way of life we are fortunate to enjoy. So for now, it is just not possible to no...tify of any set dates for training and/or functions. We cant wait to get going & we certainly hope all of our junior & senior players, supporters & families, feel the same. Please keep checking in as we will notify of any plans as soon as they are made, and please keep doing the right things so that you stay safe & well, and we can all get together sooner rather than later. Take care See more

15.01.2022 We are pleased to announce the following appointments after our AGM on Sunday. President: Mark Ryan, Vice President: Tim Shanahan, Treasurer: Travis Windridge, Secretary: Liam Gaskell. General committee: Anthony Fred Ryan, Wayne Saunders (more to follow). Club Coach: Tony Noony Ryan, Female Coach: Ren Doyle Congratulations to all & may 2020/21 be a massive one for the Goers! Much gratitude is owed to those who have relinquished their positions, and this will be acknowledg...ed formally in coming weeks, but just quick thank yous to outgoing president Andrew Gibbs & senior coach Shane Koop after four years at the helm. Tireless & committed efforts from both & we are very fortunate they will continue to play a part at the club this summer. As will co-coach Nathan Fitzpatrick who never missed a beat at training & selection and kept us humming along with great enthusiasm. Fitzy will focus on playing this season as he puts major injury behind him. Get on board in 2020/21 - were looking forward to getting out there and having fun. Dont miss out!

15.01.2022 We are proud to confirm our senior captains for 2020/21 whilst acknowledging the continuing support of our major sponsor and ground naming rights holder Lead Advisory Group. From L-R : Brett Andrews (Lead Advisory Bendigo director & BCC life member); Liam Gaskell (3rd XI captain); Amy Ryan (Bendigo CC women's captain); Andy Rosos (2nd XI captain); Noony Ryan (senior coach); Nathan Fitzpatrick (1st XI captain); Ren Doyle (Bendigo Goers women's captain); Peter Kirkwood (4th XI captain). Congratulations and good luck to all skippers this summer, and a huge thanks again to Brett and the team at Lead Advisory for their very welcome support of our wonderful club.

14.01.2022 As we look forward to season 2020/21 commencing (for most) tomorrow, there is a long overdue farewell that deserves recognition. Tomorrow we take to the field without one of the most popular, loyal, and talented players we have been fortunate to have as part of our club over many years. Most will know that Alex Pearson has made the move to Queensland with partner Sarah, and a wise and timely move it was too, by and large avoiding the restrictions we Victorians have had to en...dure Alex has been a champion player for our club, and a better teammate you would not find. Lex gave everything to the team, still charging in late in the day even when having bowled a gutload of overs already. And Pearso was a batsman who everyone would stop to watch - it was always a sight to behold. Thanks for all you have given us Alex, we are mighty proud of you and we miss you heaps. Make sure you come back real soon! #superstar

12.01.2022 I think we would all agree with Lisa Chesters MP on this topic! Lets all play a part and get behind the clubs fundraising efforts as Bendigo Cricket Club shows how keen we are to help this long-awaited upgrade move forward!

11.01.2022 Congratulations to our very own Xav Ryan ! X-man has been selected in the Victoria Country Cricket League team of the year for 2019/20, to go with his selection in the BDCA team of the year announced a few months ago. These are the players considered by the VCCL to be the best in their position outside the metropolitan competitions based on 2019/20 performances . Quite an honour and a great achievement by one of our best! Great stuff Xav !

10.01.2022 Hey players - just a reminder that from the commencement of 2020/21 batting in a helmet that is BS7928:2013 compliant will be compulsory. Which helmets are compliant you ask? Well the attached link will show you. https://www.icc-cricket.com//cricket/rules-and-reg/helmets... One of the main things you should be looking for is whether the faceguard is adjustable - if it IS adjustable, its NOT compliant. A reminder that club embroidered Masuri helmets can be purchased through the online store of TNF - obviously a great choice if you need to upgrade. https://www.tnfcricket.com/bendigo

10.01.2022 A club great is back in charge at Bendigo Cricket Club.

10.01.2022 One of our generous sponsors has made some necessary changes so that they can continue trading during the current lockdown. Bendigo District RSL are now offering take-away food and liquor services between 4 & 9 pm each day. Grab yourself a great meal and give a little back to a wonderful community organisation that has given great support to our club. Click www.bendigorsl.com.au/activities/takeaway-food-service/ for further information and to peruse the menu!

10.01.2022 Not sure everyone will have access to this but its certainly interesting. No doubt football would the same thing for cricket if the seasons were reversed?

06.01.2022 Words fail me. Can confidently say this would never pass muster at Bendigo CC, but it does beg the question - who constantly disappoints in the arvo tea arena? Im gunna kick off with a nomination for life member and premiership captain - Brett Andrews and his %#$* Tim Tams. Zero imagination and $2 a packet.

06.01.2022 With a broken heart the Bendigo Cricket Club acknowledge yesterday's passing of one of our champion young players; Jye Eiffert. Many may be aware that Jye was involved in a vehicle accident and tragically did not survive. We pass on our sincerest condolences to Jye's parents Adrian & Kay, Jye's sister Zoe, and all of Jye's family. Words cannot heal the pain but we hope that the knowledge Jye has left a mark on all of our hearts will provide some comfort. Jye was not just any... junior player - his gregarious & confident nature meant that he was well known, and extremely well liked, amongst the entire playing group. He was a serious talent also, and in a recent summer brought up his maiden century for the club, something many players go through a whole career without doing. Jye's energy was infectious and his teammates adored him. Looking through some photos we have of Jye, two things stood out - his ever-present cheeky grin and the way in which his teammates gravitated towards him. Without doubt, they all walked taller with Jye in their team. Jye was a loyal Goer having been with us since the Under 12's in 2014/15. He racked up over 1000 runs and took 35 wickets and was consistently in the best players. One of Jye's admirable qualities was the effort he always gave even when the situation seemed hopeless and he was always supportive and considerate of those teammates who couldn't quite match his high level of skill. Taking the field without Jye seems unimaginable at this time, as does the thought that he won't be at training cracking jokes and whacking balls around this summer. Jye is irreplaceable and unforgettable - something I think he would be very proud to be. Please keep Jye's family in your thoughts, along with his young teammates who have lived and laughed with him through his time at Bendigo CC. They are devastated and battling at the moment, give them your love. Jye, we love you so much, and we will miss you eternally. You will be remembered fondly by all at BCC, and you will always be very special to us. To never see your smile again seems utterly heart-breaking, until we remember that we will indeed see it again - whenever we think of you it will be that smile that comes first to mind and warms our hearts as we remember our friend. Rest in peace Jye

04.01.2022 Something that may be of interest to our junior cricketers and families, from our friends at Golden City FC. Best of luck with everything Rams, its been a very tough time for winter sports but we hope you can all get out on the pitch soon!

04.01.2022 The women's comp commences this morning at 10 am and we have a cracker to kick the season off! It will be an all Bendigo affair as the Bendigo Goers take on Bendigo CC. The Goers will begin their premiership defence against a young Bendigo CC side keen to make an impact and build on the big improvements made through the first two seasons. We also welcome a number of new players into both teams and hope they have a fun day as they join the BCC family.... Get down to Shadforth Park, North Bendigo shortly to cheer the girls on!

03.01.2022 Our courtyard in Mister Bobs is warm & toasty with our big ass heater & a cracking atmosphere to go with it // Open from 11:30am until late Tuesday - Sunday, theres plenty of time to get down here & enjoy it Lets get back into the catch-up spirit!

02.01.2022 Join BDCA President Wayne Walsh and Junior Coordinator Tony Ryan as they present the individual awards from the past season. The evening will commence live at 8....00pm Thursday 21st May, live from the studios of the All Seasons Resort Hotel. Join the live stream to find out who wins awards from the Under12As up to the Under 18 competitions.

02.01.2022 A few pics from our practice match vs Bendigo United Cricket Club on Sunday. And for those not yet aware, we will be seeing much more of our traditional home ground the Queen Elizabeth Oval in season 2020/21. Whilst our centre wicket refurbishment is completed at Lead Advisory Oval (North Bendigo) our senior men's & U18 home games have been scheduled at the QEO until late November at least. Those that played Sunday can vouch for the wicket and outfield being in tremendous nick and we look forward to reacquainting ourselves with the premier ground in Bendigo.

01.01.2022 https://www.bendigoadvertiser.com.au//trio-keen-to-repre/ Congratulations to Under 16 BCC player Deacon Evans on his selection in the Under 15 Victorian hockey team, a very special honour recognising his outstanding talent. Unfortunately the COVID-19 restrictions claimed another victim and the national tournaments were cancelled, however I think its fair to say Deacons name will remain high on state selectors lists again in the future.... Onya Deacs!

01.01.2022 Confirmation of the news that was disseminated to players, members, and supporters in the club email last week. Sad news that is ameliorated by the retaining of both Shane and Nathan as players at the club, with both keen to continue their excellent on-field contributions of recent seasons. No doubt Fitzy will be especially eager given injury curtailed 2019/20. Rightful acknowledgement cant be expressed in a Facebook update, but we will undoubtedly find the appropriate forum to do so at some time in the off-season. For now it is thanks champs, we love you both, and look forward to taking the field with you again in 2020/21

01.01.2022 A little slideshow put together to celebrate the win of the Bendigo Goers in season two of the womens competition. We are enormously proud of both of our female teams and hope theyre all back for more fun in 2020/21! The winning team included Ren Doyle (captain & player of the match), Emma Windridge, Kylie Ross, Melissa Pearce, Shanaye Alexander, Sharni Barker, Hannah Graham, Hannah Stuart, Imogen Kendal, Andy Amil Well done legends!
