25.01.2022 Have you ever been told by a Chinese Medicine practitioner that you're Damp? No, it's not intended as an insult about your personality or sense of humour. It's a unique take on what is happening in the body, making you feel heavy, tired, bloated, foggy in your thoughts, amongst many other symptoms. But how exactly do we end up with dampness? This video gives some insight as to how our bodies generate Damp.

25.01.2022 How the immune system operates is one my favourite theories in Chinese Medicine. It is quite complex in the way it relies on so much of the body to be functioning at full capacity. This video explains how all these factors come together and determine how well or otherwise, our immune systems defend our bodies. Enjoy! https://youtu.be/CqUve4UKJZg

24.01.2022 I’m sure you all know by now that it’s the year of the Metal Rat, so let’s celebrate some of the most amazing metal rats on Earth! These African giant pouched rats are trained and used to detect landmines with incredible accuracy and speed. What can take a human with a metal detector 4 days to clear, these rats can do in 30 minutes! Not only that, they can also test & detect tuberculosis in 100 samples in 20 minutes. A lab requires 4 days to get the same results. ... What’s the metal relevance here? Tuberculosis is a disease of the Lungs, which is the metal organ in Chinese Medicine. Pretty cool, huh?! No wonder they are called heroRATs! Check them out at @herorats #metalrat #herorats #chinesenewyear #goodfortune #chinesemedicine #rats #bendigo #landmine #tuberculosis

24.01.2022 Qi. Is it real, or is it just some "fish-slappers" crazy concept? We are so often finding ourselves in clinic explaining the fundamentals of Chinese Medicine theory. With the exception of the 5% that glaze over, we find the vast majority of people are intrigued, many of which have their "light bulb moment" as it all starts to make sense. Over the coming weeks, Kylie Freemantle is going to explain in a bit more depth what Qi is and how it applies to your health in a series of short videos. https://youtu.be/CwlOcN9hAIA

20.01.2022 If you could only smell how good this Ye Ju Hua smells! It makes me want to make a tea and clear away heat toxin... Wild chrysanthemum flower however great it smells, is still quite bitter, making it adept at draining fire, aiding in sore throats & red eyes #chineseherbs #herbs #bendigo #chrysanthemum #herboftheweek #eyes #smellssogood

20.01.2022 Guess who's beautiful face you can see again, via a Telehealth appointment? Yep, Steph is back from maternity leave and taking Chinese Herbal consultations via our secure, easy to use Telehealth system. 14.01.2022 The COVID-19 situation has changed the way we're doing things! Due to limiting the number of people coming into the clinic, we have limited the number of acupuncture appointments, and as a result, we are temporarily not taking new patients for Acupuncture Appointments. Sorry! However, we are continuing to take new patients for Chinese Herbal Consultations. And to further support the need for social distancing, we are now conducting these appointments from the comfort of your ...own home. This also applies to all existing clients. All you need is a Zoom account (our preference), or a phone... Easy! Not sure what we can treat with herbs? We're putting some videos together to give you a bit of an idea to the scope of Chinese Herbal medicine practice (coming soon), but we'll give you a heads up - it's extensive!

13.01.2022 In a world obsessed with beauty and how that "looks", we can sometimes lose our ability to see beauty in the things that at first glance are not necessarily what we are shown is aesthetically pleasing. True beauty radiates, it's not two dimensional. Take time out to feel the beauty around you. We enjoyed the feeling so much last week, that we're doing it again today! We'll be back on board tomorrow...

11.01.2022 Happy New Year, from us all at Bendigo Chinese Medicine! We wish you the most wonderful of years in health, happiness & success. We will be closed until the 6th of January for a battery recharge. We look forward to seeing all of our gorgeous clients faces (& some new ones!) then!!

09.01.2022 As Steph takes leave in preparation for the arrival of an already very much loved bubba, we wanted to wish her and Toby love in the adventures that parenthood brings on behalf of all at BCM! With these two teaming up as parents, this is one very lucky bub! We also want to take this opportunity to ensure that all of Steph's clients know that they will be looked after with the amazing care that they have become accustomed to, until she returns next year.

07.01.2022 Taking time out to enjoy the beauty of life, so we’re not open today. And as life has such beauty to find, we’re also closed on Friday! We hope you’re enjoying the beauty in your life, too. We’re open our usual hours on Thursday

07.01.2022 Covid-19 Update As a health practice, we always have strict policies in place to ensure the safety and health of our staff and patients. It is imperative that we use increased caution at this time to protect those that are most vulnerable within our community, allowing them to continue to access healthcare in a safe setting. As such, we ask that you please contact the clinic to organise a phone consultation (herbal option) or reschedule your appointment if you are: Displ...aying signs of being unwell; Have been in contact with anyone known to have Covid-19; or You have arrived home from ANY overseas flight in the last 14 days. To add further peace of mind, you are welcome to wait in your car rather than in the waiting area. Just call reception to let them know that you have arrived, and if your practitioner isn't yet ready for you, they will give you a call once they are. On our part, we have stepped up our usual procedures to include measures such as: Temporary removal of magazines and toys (please BYO you're own - lets admit, they're probably more likely to be up to date!) Sanitation of treatment tables, chairs, desks and door handles after each patient. Our staff will not attend the clinic for work at the first sign of any respiratory illness. We are committed to continuing to provide high quality healthcare in a safe and relaxing environment and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time

05.01.2022 We’re all feeling our anxiety levels creep up at the moment, which is a natural response to your life being picked up, turned upside down and shaken around just for good measure. So it’s important to stop and breathe. The gorgeous Jacinta Hooper has put together this 5 day meditation program to help you calm, relax and keep that anxiety in check. Something you can do for yourself (and at no cost! Thanks Jacinta )

04.01.2022 If you've ever had a session of acupuncture, you no doubt will have been told that at some point that your Qi isn't moving properly, or you have Qi stagnation. Consistent and smooth movement of Qi is the basis of a healthy mind and body. How does Qi movement become interrupted & what sorts of things can affect the flow of Qi? We've done up a video that explains this in very simple terms.

04.01.2022 Some of the feedback that we are getting from patients is that they want to know what THEY can do to help themselves. Love the pro-active approach that people are taking! Not running in fear, but going with an offensive approach. This is always the best approach in taking charge of your health, not just in crazy times like these. Qigong is a wonderful exercise with brilliant health benefits that can easily be done within the confines of your own home. Raymond Lee of Welby Holistic Healing, whom we are blessed to have working within our clinic has filmed this video to show you a Qigong routine specifically focused at dealing with respiratory illnesses. Keep those Lungs strong

04.01.2022 We’re currently inundated with people wanting something to support their immune system, and we completely get it! What many people forget is the value of nutritious food in immune health. Chinese medicine has used food as medicine for centuries. We make this soup stock formula (recipe included or use your own) to add extra nutrition, especially aimed at boosting immunity. And it tastes fantastic! Remember, keep eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables (which are about the only things we can seem to reliably get in the supermarkets at the moment), get regular fresh air and exercise, plenty of sleep and try to focus on the things that make you smile - don’t underestimate the effect of stress on your immune system

03.01.2022 If evidence based research relies on the ability to measure results, you first need the instruments to measure them. Peta explains why current Evidence Based Research models can't show Chinese Medicines' true value.
