It is our duty to provide nurturing environment to our children so that they can become fluent in the fundamental of mathematics. There is no such thing as "I am not a maths person", it's just a mindset that we need to change. Everyone can learn to do Mathematics! We (parent/teacher) need to be careful about our own attitude towards mathematics. We all need to have Growth Mindset toward mathematics. Children who have growth mindset toward their maths abilities perform better and more engage in the classroom.

04.01.2022 Do you have a child who like maths and think it is fun? Or Do you have a child who does not like to hear anything about maths? Parents and teachers who don't like maths can transfer that attitude to children who think it's ok to be not good at maths. So how do we create maths lovers? How we talk about maths and teach matters a lot. First of all, be clear, it is a myth that "everybody can't do maths" or "not a maths person". I believe when people say "they are bad at maths"... they usually mean they had trouble understanding algebra. I think the way we teach maths matters and we needed to be careful about our own mindset and instead of giving in to maths anxiety, we need to think about it and try to find a solution.
