15.01.2022 The challenges of mentally healthy workplaces and leadership - have we got it right?
12.01.2022 One of the many valuable lessons from Covid has been the increased focus on the importance of being mentally healthy, and the normalisation of experiencing a mental health condition. The increased dialogue around mental health has brought into sharper focus the need to have a Mentally Healthy Workplace. As the number of people working from home has increased, with many people (not all!) experiencing a great positive from this change, it has highlighted the degree of toxicity ...or lack of focus about mental health that exists in many workplaces. I have heard a lot of people talking about how they feel very anxious about returning to their workplace, and how they feel mentally healthier working from home. There are a number of lessons to learn from this - it really is time for workplaces to start asking themselves the hard questions about their workplace. Below are a number of questions for workplaces to consider and start evaluating themselves - if your workplace is coming up with a "no" response to most of these questions - it might be time to consider obtaining some assistance to make your workplace a mentally healthier place to be. #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #leadership #wellbeing #returntowork See more
10.01.2022 In the current times, anxiety can escalate and evolve into panic as we are faced with such major challenges and hurdles. Everyone is scared of the unknown, however if we can show tolerance and understanding to each other we can get through these hard times together. Managing the anxiety can be tough - below are some tips to help you: Well-Being Tip: The Power of Breath... TOTAL WELL-BEING Right now, one of your most powerful tools to manage through this challenging time is a deep breath. It’s true! Taking a deep breath is proven to calm and centre cognitive/rational thinking. A deep breath helps us pause inner emotions and provides mental space to relax for a moment. In that moment of calm we are better able to reach into our best thinking. And that’s something we all want right now for ourselves, for our families, for each other. So go ahead! Make this an every moment habit in your day. Before you answer each phone call As you eat your meals As you sit down for a meeting As you help each customer On your drive home Before you go to bed Make a list for yourself and refer to it often Take care of yourself, and keep working together. If you are feeling overwhelmed by the uncertainties of today, remember you are not alone.

07.01.2022 In the delivery of rehabilitation services, the most success can be achieved by meeting the fundamental needs of our clients. We need to start with a client centred approach and begin service with individualising their recovery program, after this it is so important to provide education to cover the gaps in peoples knowledge so they are informed about trauma and its impact on our emotions and decision making. Through education and support clients feel empowered and resilient ...to manage and resolve their issues so they can build a positive future with our coaching. When you help clients restore their dignity the desire to return to work is strengthened and their mental health improved - and funnily enough - employers and the system benefit too. #mentalhealth #coaching #education #trauma #wellbeing #selfcare #rtw #rehabilitation #returntowork #workerscompensation #work #emotionalintelligence See more
