24.01.2022 1. Make sure you are getting enough of the good stuff- Lots of vegetables Loads of green leafy green vegetables... High quality protein and fats 2. Cut out the crap. It goes without saying that removing non-functional foods will make a big difference to your short and long term health. This includes processed foods, dairy, processed meat, anything in a box, tin or packaged that is full of refined ingredients, preservatives, colours and flavours. 3. Eliminate sugar- processed and even too much natural sugar is not going to give you good health. It puts a strain on your organs and is linked with Diabetes, Cancer and Heart Disease- the 3 big killers. The only other thing you need is the mindset to make all this happen. It’s all common sense and quite simple and yet we can’t seem to stick with it can we? And why is that? I think it’s many things- -Conditioning -Marketing (false advertising for foods that are not really foods and are not really good for us) -How our brains are wired to keep us alive -Beliefs, values and hard-wired habits that keep us stuck. The secret Changing your subconscious desires to match your conscious desires, instead of it being a constant battle of the minds. And how do I do that you ask? By telling yourself a new story, and repeat, repeat, repeat. By being aware of the inner critic who tries to sabotage your new story and not allowing it to take over. Benita

21.01.2022 Your shape, weight and whether or not your jeans still fit is determined by how your genes respond to your environment. Genetic predisposition does not mean you will get a disease. Just because obesity or diabetes runs in your family does not mean you have to be subject to it. It means if given the right environmental conditions a gene will respond and express the disease.... Environment is everything. And a huge part of our environment is what we eat. It is our connection with the outside world, internalised. Another major factor is how we think and express our emotions. These are internal ways we respond to external stimuli. These are things that are totally within our control What we eat How we think Our emotional response and reactions. There are many environmental things that are beyond our control but if we focus on what is within our power to change we can have a greater effect than those uncontrollable external factors. 21.01.2022 Today started with yoga followed by spa+ sauna+ facials and massage at Soulskinspa Everyone is feeling great. The sauna aids detoxification. Massage is great for aches. All these support the body to detox with ease.... Bindi said she loves the environment of being away from regular routine and hasn’t felt stressed or rushed at all through this retreat. 17.01.2022 . . Louis L’Amour Mindfulness is a buzz word at the moment. And for very good reason. There is a lot of research to indicate it is closely related to health and happiness.... And isn’t’ that we are all striving for? We want better health so we feel happier in our body We want to heal our pain to feel happy We want more energy to do the things that make us happy We often do, do, do without first being. Being in the present Being grateful for our achievements, health and wealth Being in the moment Sometimes being in the present is painful and so we relive the past or dream about the future to avoid dealing with it. But all we truly have is the here and now, this moment. This moment to. -decide to eat healthy -go for a walk on the beach -play with our children -write that book -say thank you Being mindful allows us to enjoy little moments in life we otherwise miss. Is also challenges us to look at our stuff. Next time you feel uncomfortable in the present and feel yourself thinking of the past or future, remind yourself now is all we have. And dealing with emotions and uncomfortable experiences right now allows us to grow much faster. Instead of having to receive the lesson again and again until we get it. Being mindful is the perfect solution to our relationship woes, whether its our partner, children or other relationships, when we can be in the moment and truly give our undivided attention and be emotionally available we strengthen our relationships. Being mindful is great for our mental health. So many fears and anxiety are born of fear of the future or regret of the past. The way you think and speak to yourself in this present moment is creating you future reality. Being mindful is a potent healer we can all benefit from. Start to practice being where your feet are every day for a few minutes. You’ll be surprised how easily your mind wonders to the past or future. 16.01.2022 It sounds so simple, logical and we all know that processed food, too much sugar and refined foods and not the path to wellness, weight loss and feeling great in our body. And yet it’s so convenient in the fast paced lives we live-... When we are too tired to cook, it's convenient When we just don’t have time, it's convenient. And the problem is those foods are so Addictive, Moreish, Tasty and Hard to resist, right? Convenience is such a big factor. I don’t’ know too many mums who do not work in some capacity. We live busy lives running an household, doing most of the kid stuff, washing, cleaning, grocery shopping, cooking, planning meals, working, running businesses, going to the gym, after school activities, and the list goes on. Buying ready made meals and snacks is a normal thing now. And cooking from scratch is a dying art. Unless you make the decision Like deciding to make the time to go to the gym. You find the time. You make the effort and you reap the rewards. Once we make the decision and decide we are going to learn to cook from scratch (and it does not have to be fancy chef style meals) you find the time and make the effort. 04.01.2022 , , . We are wired for survival, to seek out sugar to keep us alive and our brain has one goal- to help us live a long life, keeping us safe from harm. It does this by doing what is familiar and therefore feels safe.... This survival technique causes us to seek sugar to sustain life. This was really helpful in hunter gatherer times when food was scarce. Not so much now when we are rarely ever only metres from food. Remember our brains main aim is to keep us alive by keeping us safe from harm. And part of this is familiarity. Our mind likes what is familiar to it. So the cookie you always received when you were a good girl becomes a familiar way to reward yourself for being good. Even if that meant not eating cookies for a period of time. The ice-cream when you had a bad day becomes a familiar way to commiserate. The feeling you get when you eat a warm sausage roll is familiar. So weight loss is about making new habits familiar. When you make eating a salad familiar. When you make exercise familiar, fasting familiar, enemas familiar, then you create an easy path to weight loss (release) Even in the language you speak. Make release or let go familiar because what happens when you lose something? You need to find it. So we don’t’ want to lose weight, we don’t’ want to find it again do we? We want to release it, let it go. We don’t need it anymore. It’s not always easy because many things we know and love (are familiar with) have been with us since childhood. Habits, beliefs and roles we play have been ingrained for decades and the emotional attachment we have to food begins in childhood. We have to unlearn what’s familiar and make the familiar unfamiliar. Replacing it with new habits, emotional responses, beliefs which are currently unfamiliar. And how do we make them familiar? Repetition So, there is so much more to releasing weight than just eating less and exercising more. You probably know that as much as the next person who has tried and failed. It’s as much mindset as it is the food we eat or don’t eat. Don’t be hard on yourself if you’ve tried to release weight and found it nearly impossible or if you’ve had success and then put it all back on again. Your brain just wasn’t familiar enough with your new weight. This is why diets don’t work, meal replacements/ shakes don’t work, and exercise doesn’t work. Making changes to your lifestyle and creating a new familiar is the answer to long-term weight release, achieving your ideal weight, feeling energetic, loving the skin you are in and being truly healthy.

03.01.2022 Wow! How is it the weekend already? I know I promised some super fast meals based on quality whole foods. This week has been huge for me, I ran my 3rd Juice Cleanse Retreat and have literally not stopped since. Last week my husband broke his wrist and sprained his ankle, so it has been full on here looking after him and doing 'all the things'. I have a new appreciation for how much he does normally. So, I headed to my trusty Pinterest board and found this quick and versatile ...buddha bowl for you. I love buddha bowls, they are great if you have family members with different tastes because they can choose what goes in. They are quick and easy and you can use up left overs. I chop a variety of salads and let the kids choose what they want, add some protein, good fats, herbs and spices and it a meal in a bowl with one board to wash. My kind of weekend cooking. Enjoy!
