24.01.2022 Ben became a funeral director after having experienced an truly authentic farewell for a close friend. I attended a funeral for a friend who died suddenly last year. A vulnerable time for us all, I saw the funeral as just another step in the process, something we just had to get through. What we experienced completely changed my perspective and outlook. ... The authentic and unique service helped to provide clarity, comfort and identification with the person we knew and allowed us the opportunity to came together to mourn. We heard from friends who formed a choir and sung, participated in adorning his coffin with local native flowers from the bush he loved so much, all whilst gazing out over the harbour, reflecting on the moments passed. At the end of the day, we still hurt, but had started to heal, embracing solace and understanding that we can persevere. It was here I realised the many different options available to honour the departed and I wanted to help others to experience a different way to say farewell. Ben’s passion is working alongside families at their time of need, providing support and guidance while exploring the many possibilities when it comes to creating an authentic end of life event. Seeing his role as a privilege, Ben establishes lasting connections with families, creating trust to fulfil their wishes during what can be a very vulnerable time.
