25.01.2022 The Government will extend the $150,000 instant asset write-off (IAWO) by six months until 31 December 2020. Under the measure, the asset must be both acquired and installed ready for use by 31 December 2020, instead of 30 June 2020.

21.01.2022 Some interesting points about the new JobKeeper payment:Employers will be eligible for the subsidy if their turnover will be reduced by more than 30 per cent relative to a comparable period a year ago (of at least a month). Employers will need to ensure that each eligible employee receives at least $1,500 per fortnight (before tax). For employees that were already receiving this amount from the employer then their income will not change. For employees that have been receiving... less than this amount, the employer will need to top up the payment to the employee up to $1,500, before tax. And for those employees earning more than this amount, the employer is able to provide them with a top-up. Employers can register here: https://www.ato.gov.au/general/gen/JobKeeper-payment/ Self employed people without employees can also register.Businesses without employees will need to provide an ABN for their business, nominate an individual to receive the payment and provide that individual’s Tax File Number and provide a declaration as to recent business activity. People who are self-employed will need to provide a monthly update to the ATO to declare their continued eligibility for the payments. Payment will be made monthly to the individual’s bank account.

21.01.2022 It is normally best to wait a few days at least after the end of financial year. This is to make sure all of your data is ready.

20.01.2022 If your group certificate is in your MyGov account then you don't have to print it out for me - I will be able to see it.

19.01.2022 For face-to-face appointments please phone (08) 8641 0892. You can also email me your information at [email protected] or just drop off your documents at reception. For these ones I have a portal that you can just log into to approve your documents so you don't have to physically sign papers and return them.

12.01.2022 Appointments for 2019 tax returns are now available. As a bonus, the tax cuts have now passed the Senate. It's usually best to wait until you know your group certificate is available though.

12.01.2022 Don't panic if you haven't lodged your 2019 tax return by the 31st of October. If you are with a tax agent you will usually have until May next year
