22.01.2022 Few photos from Paradise Palms Golf Club on the weekend. Went up to play with a team who needed a professional for the Holden Scramble regional final because they don’t have one at their club. Played with 4 great blokes from Willows and we managed to run 2nd on the day. Funnily enough 2nd to Mark Poelstra who was the trainee at Surfers Paradise before I came here. Course was in great condition and pretty spectacular back drops. Definitely worth playing if your up that way.... Thanks PGA of Australia for the opportunity to play. Special thanks to Janelle Spence for organising my travel and accomodation etc etc it was a lot of fun.

20.01.2022 Hi from Bonville everyone! Haven't hit a shot yet and I'm blown away!!

15.01.2022 Commit to the shot....we hear it so much but do we actually do it? Or do we just think commit to the shot? Now that I don't play as much I find it much harder to have confidence in my shots and trust myself but a few things help me. A deep breath before I enter into my very quick pre shot routine ... I do not hesitate or figet. When you are facing a tough shot or playing poorly it is easy to start to take longer. I continuously picture a successful shot throughout my routine. No technical swing thoughts I commit fully to my aiming...as the great man Harvey Penick once said...take dead aim Develop and enhance your own commitment to your shots and stick to the plan for the entire round and you will see a difference in your consistency I'm sure. Hope everyone plays well on the weekend :)

13.01.2022 Creating power and a great impact position is very difficult for a lot of players I see. One of the main factors that influences this is your sequence of movements with the main body parts. Today I want to talk about the downswing. The downswing sequence starts with the hips first, then trunk, then upper body, then left arm, then finally the club. It's like throwing a ball. You step forwards first and your lower half begins to turn, then your trunk is pulled around whilst you...r upper body is hanging back, then your upper body begins to turn whilst your arm is still hanging back and then finally you release your arm at the last second letting all the force out to the ball. Many times I see a players upper body moving quicker than the lower body in there downswing sequence which releases all that energy too early and they lose all their power. There is a great little exercise to feel this sequence of movement in your swing. Have a go sometime even with out a ball and try to experience storing your power in the club and letting it go at impact. Here is a link to the video, it's not perfectly what I wanted but close enough. Put the focus more on the transition between the end of the backswing and the step forward into the downswing. This is the key area for storing that power. https://youtu.be/p8HCUATNA-o As always if your struggling I'm here to help anytime so feel free to contact me and we can talk about how to help you play the golf you dream of. Until next time keep having fun out there :)

13.01.2022 A beautiful morning at Kew Golf Club and a great time for a hot air ballon ride Reminded me of my last job at Surfers Paradise Golf Club where I used to see them frequently. Wow the course is in amazing condition here!

13.01.2022 Some photos from Bonville. Killer kookaburras...seriously one hit me in the back whilst I was eating a sandwich trying to get it. Last 2 photos are of where a ball finished after the group in front hit a tee shot. It some how got through the trees bounced of the path and finished in the glovebox of our cart...crazy stuff Really enjoyed the layout of the course but unfortunately like a lot of courses at the moment the lack of rain has effected the condition and it wasn't at its strongest. It's a great ball strikers course though and I enjoyed taking on some really hard shots. Reminded me of a lot of Brookwater.

06.01.2022 Hi everyone I hope your playing the golf of your dreams but if your not....this might help Dealing with Negativity Most rounds I play even when I was practising hard and playing a lot I only ever hit about 5 - 10 shots that go exactly how I picture them and that’s on a good day. On a bad day I probably don’t see any in that perfect flight I imagine. ...Continue reading

06.01.2022 Rodney Davies....listen for the sound at the end....we heard it quite a bit throughout the day...

05.01.2022 Thought I posted this yesterday but don't see it...so posted again One of the challenging shots Bonville presents the longer hitters...so much fun I had 210m with the ball above my feet quite a lot..the video doesn't really show this. I aimed right to allow for the draw off the slope but it stayed there.... With my mate Rod Davies commentating through out the shot...priceless lol Still made birdie after holing a 20 footer from off the green...rod can vouch for me if you don't believe it haha!

03.01.2022 The simple things matter Hitting the ball out of the centre of the club face makes a huge difference to your shots and none more so than the driver. As much as technology has improved there is only so much the manufacturers can do to make a ball go straight from off centre hits. If you hit it too far from the centre your direction and distance will be drastically effected. Here are a few tips to help hit the driver out of the centre more often.... - Your tee height should have half the golf ball over the top of the driver when it is resting behind it. If you have it at this height and you are still hitting it too high or low in the face adjust it up and down slightly. - Put some face tape or spray on your driver and hit some shots to see which part of the face you commonly hit the club face. If you have no tape you can use a pen to mark the ball so it leaves a mark on your club face. Once you see a pattern, for instance you might be hitting a lot of shots out of the heel of the club, try to adjust your positioning to hit the ball out of the centre. You might simply stand a little further away. - Be mindful of where you address the ball. How the driver sits on the ground whether upright or flat effects where the centre of the club face will be. The manufacturers marking of the centre of the face can be misleading sometimes so make sure you have a close look. I hope this helps you hit it longer and straighter! If you find out you are missing the middle often and can’t change it please seek professional help

03.01.2022 My first of many videos to come....hope it helps :)
