25.01.2022 Flashback-Most muscular pose @ the 2015 April ANB natural body building comp. --- This time last year I would have been on my journey to get down under 6% BF and step on stage to do my thing in some red trunks. --- Wish Anyone competing all the best for season A. Its a hard journey, but so worth it. You develop some zen like focus, discipline and determination.... --- One important point is you are competing really against yourself at the end of the day. 22.01.2022 High bar squats. 170kg x 6reps x 3 sets. ---- This was 90% deadlift day, however i forgot to tape those attempts. Failwhale. --- Had a off week this week. Feeling that pedulum swing kick in now. Have to apply some autoregulation to my pre plan numbers. Noe its getting real.... --- Deadlifts were as followed 1st set 255kg x 3 reps 2nd set 255kg x 2 reps 3rd set 255kg x 1 rep --- Didnt help that i tore my callus on my left hand aswell. Need to invest in a good pummel stone to keep my calluses from tearing. Un managed callus do unfortunately effect the gains train. Hooefully i can keep my manhood by saying that. --- Will reduce my training frequency back to 4 times per week from 5 to increase my quality of output. 22.01.2022 Pendulum leg press. --- Great exercise machineespecially with foot variations. Heels higher works the Gluteus while heels lower works the quads. ---... Looks can be deceiving on this one. There is no need for one to load up to many plates. The exercise is already very intense due to biomechanics. Sometimes all it requires is just 2.5kg or 5kg plates loaded on. --- You can train some serious depth on your squat with this machine as it can allow you to sink low. --- This machine should be a staple in most gyms. 20.01.2022 Squat 262.5kg-new PR at the @sfaustralia lift for life PA meet. -- This is now 20kg off equalising the current PA Australian 105kg male squat record. Good to know where the current benchmark sits. Would be a amazing achievement to become a record holder. --... This was a big moment for me in the competition, as my last competition I only hit 1/3 of my squat attempts. I knew I had to play a safer attempt selection this time around. I got caught out for depth last comp, good to know that it wasnt a concern this time around. Have been depth training the last 3/4 months to make sure it would be on point come this meet. -- Promising signs as well as 262.5kg felt and looked fast. I may well of had a bit more in the squat tank to deliver on the day. Happy to have played it safe though for the total goal. -- Already looking forward to my next meet. 16.01.2022 Squats 225kg for 3 reps X 3 sets. --- 1st week of my 4 week intensification. 4 weeks away to my PA meet. ---... Tried a 234kg and got 1 rep. Felt slow so dropped it right back. --- Focusing on how to fail using the power rack , which is a skill on itself. I am also getting used to heavy weight on my back again. Moving forward, will plan my programming to use 85% plus weight on each lift each week to keep my specificity for powerlifting. Also need to start training through the grind more as this is also a skill. 14.01.2022 Video features my 3rd attemp 290kg(639.34lb) PR deadlift at the @sfaustralia Lift for Life powerlifting meet today.This was the moment when i cemented myself in the 700kg (1543.24lb) total class. I am now currently ranked 4th in the 105kg powerlifter based on total in @powerliftingaustralia. My Wilks today is 428.61. I weighed in today in my class at a light 98.5kg. --- This was my 2nd ever powerlifting meet in my 1st year as a powerlifter. I had to overcome some obstacles ...to get the 700 total today. My appendix surgery that stomped on my momentum around Christmas 2015. Getting the flu a day before my meet which I carreid into the arena and battled through. Numerous shoulder Physio/Chiro appointments to rehab my shoulder. At the end of the day, all my hard work in training did pay off and it was worth the grind. This is the true defination of happiness. Setting a goal and conquering it despite the odds. --- Just wanna give a massive shout out to my partner @tamarameyerfitness for letting me chase my goals and train 3 hours a day most days of the week to chase down these numbers. She also kept me focused on my 700kg total goal today throughout the meet. --- So for now, I will let the caffeine and adrenline wear off from today. Get over this flu illness and set my next PA lift goals. I am quietly exiting to enter another volume/hypertrophy block. Was great to finally hit it in training for 2 sets. This is 2 weeks away from my next PA powerlifting meet at @sfaustralia in Melbourne. Preparation so far is on point, happy days. ---- Had to overcome a appendix operation, a lot of rehab for my shoulders and a lot of reading/research/skill... practice on my bench form.
