25.01.2022 Many people ask about a large, maggot looking thing about 10 to 20 millimetres in length and brown or grey in colour they find in their compost pile or worm bin. These are the larval form of a soldier fly. They have neither stingers nor mouths in which to hurt us and actually aid in composting and help turn the waste their in into an easier to access food source for worms. They don't like to be in houses and help keep away the common house fly.
