25.01.2022 What a wonderful weekend we have just experienced down at the Yalambi Showjumping Classic 2020. Congratulation to Sue, Rory and Emily Hovell for putting on another wonderful, exciting showjumping event. World class!! To successfully coordinate 1300 rounds over 3 days of jumping in three arenas is a massive effort by everyone involved. ... The live stream by Darren Dawes again was exceptional and has created a window for the rest of the world to look through and see the wonderful talented riders and world class horses that are being bred in WA. The fantastic commentary by Gemma Alexander and Leon Carrol was very informative about the riders experience and history but also the pedigree detail of all their horses was great to listen to. As a breeder myself, it makes the whole show so much more interesting and entertaining. For international breeders watching the live stream it has and will in the future, showcase the exceptional equine genetics we have in Australia and especially in WA. I would like to thank the two course designers Kevin Tully and Ed Murphy for their great work designing the courses that were engaging and challenging for both rider and their horses alike. With out those guys commitment to their craft, you can’t have a show. Apparently a few red wines helps in the course designs late at night. They worked tirelessly all weekend to help build each course and then late into the night so the next day’s course was ready for course walking at 6.30am. Finally I would like to say, how amazing are the Yalambi Jump wings, as well as the beautiful setting that the whole show is built around. It was a joy to watch our young stallion as well as everyone else’s horses go around. Well done again to the Hovell family and their team.

22.01.2022 David Cameron riding Bensons Femme Fatale (Fifi) has had 2 firsts and a second in her last 3 starts competing in great company over the past two weeks in NSW. Starting with winning the the Keenden Contracting Open 1.30m - 1.35m class at Waratah Showjumping at SIEC with a fabulous double clear round in a jump off time of 50.25 seconds. Five days later taking out the win in the Two Phase Open 1.40m class at the YRC Show Series and then one day later the pair came second in th...e 1.35m class. Great result Dave. You are both on fire. 20.01.2022 Congratulations to Rachel Yovich riding Bensons Cat Balou winning the West Coast Vets Classic at the Equestrian in the Park 2020 Perth WA, today. Another exciting ride by Rachel, and what a way to finish the season, Rachel. Well Done. Solid 1.45m jumpoff attached.

17.01.2022 We are excited to finally say Bensons Sporthorses has a website! It’s something that I have wanted to build for a while. Our clients have come from around Australia to purchase from Bensons Sporthorses and it is with great pride that we watch and hear of their successes. When I looked back and collated many of the photos of our mares, and their progeny I realised how it has been a wonderful journey for our family to breed and follow our horse’s successes. My daughters and I... still follow and watch the videos that are made each week from our clients horses that are sent to me with pride. We are only a small stud but it’s been fun. We would like to thank Tina Larcombe-Day from Secret Womens Business who took so many stunning photos of our stallion Bensons Quicksilver for the website. We would also like to thank Eric Loyd from Eric Loyd Photography who has taken so many action shots of our horses over the years. Some we have purchased but many have also been happily donated from the owners of our horses to add to our website, so thank you friends. Finally I would like to thank my daughter Daisy and her partner Josh for their incredible help and expertise with our website presentation and ‘flow’.
