09.01.2022 "Delirium". Oil and acrylic and marble dust on canvas. 168x140 cms. I used abstract shapes and gestural brush strokes on a vivid Ultramarine background to express the sensation of being suspended in a cool, deep ocean. The dominant black shape is a device to suggest a 'living presence' existing in a natural ocean environment. I used marble dust mixed with the paint to create a textured surface. The paint is applied quickly, in spontaneous, gestural movements, thinly in places and with thick brush strokes in others. This painting is sold.
