19.01.2022 Hi all, Whilst I would love to get Bentleigh Auskick up and going, similar to Junior footy, unfortunately until there are further restriction updates from State and Federal Govt, Auskick will remain in lock down until further notice. I will continue to monitor the situation and advise ASAP when there is more to share. 16.01.2022 Hi everyone, Whilst the AFL has announced a return for Auskick we have just received all information and protocols regarding a possible return. I will be attending a webinar on Tuesday night and following I will arrange a meeting with the BJFC committee to discuss our direction as a club. 09.01.2022 Just received this from the AFL. Dear NAB AFL Auskick Coordinators, Thanks again for your continued patience and support as we have worked through COVID-19 situation. We just wanted to provide a further update around Auskick Return to Play. ... At this stage we still working with a confirmed date for Auskick Return to Play within Victoria. We are working closely with the Victorian Government on when this will be able to occur, but please know in the background we are setting up all requirements to push forward once we get this confirmed. 08.01.2022 Hi all, As you would be aware the AFL has decided to delay the start of Auskick until at least 31 May 2020. We appreciate this is extremely disappointing, however the correct thing to do considering the circumstances.... We are in close contact with the League to stay across any updates. This will include consideration of the risks we are dealing with, what format the season may take such as how many rounds and how we might operate should we get started this season. As a start we want kids to be as active as they can be within the boundaries of isolation, so please keep them kicking the footy. If you have registered with Auskick for 2020 and dont have a football of any kind let me know, the Club has limited number of spare footies we can loan out and some older ones we can give away. Its something we can at least do to keep footy as a part of our lives whilst we go through these difficult times. The AFL is closely monitoring the situation with respect to COVID-19 and it is important that any information you receive with respect to COVID-19 or any other infectious illness comes from a reputable source. We are regularly consulting with the Australian Government, the World Health Organisation and the AFLs Chief Medical Officers on the best advice for our... football community. The health and safety of participants, players, umpires and volunteers underpin our ability to conduct matches and sessions that are so loved by our communities, supporters and members. Given COVID-19 remains a situation with the potential to change rapidly, the AFL will continue to work with relevant authorities and will update the football communities as new information comes to hand. 06.01.2022 From AFL Auskick Following the Victorian State Governments announcement on Tuesday 7th July 2020 and the decision to enter a six-week stage three restrictions for Metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire LGA, the AFL has made the decision that Community NAB AFL Auskick programs in these regions will not proceed as intended. Participants & Auskick coordinators who reside in this area have been contacted via email. If you have not received your email please contact [email protected]. There are no changes to participants outside these regions in VIC, nor are their changes to start dates to the rest of Australia. The Auskick team will work hard with the Victorian Government and health authorities to find avenues to bring Auskick to life through a mini-Auskick season. We would like to thank our wonderful Auskick coordinators who have worked hard over this period. We are overwhelmed by the support weve received from our entire community and positive approach to return to Auskick and providing kids with the best, first experience with footy. 04.01.2022 Auskick registrations are now open for 2020. Please go to https://play.afl/club-finder and search for Bentleigh Auskick at King George VI Memorial Reserve. Bentleigh Auskick is an inclusive all abilities centre that welcomes both boys and girls to learn the skills of Australian Football in a fun and supportive environment. With groups for Kinders, Preps, Grade 1s, Grade 2s (and up) and our dedicated Girls Group there is a place for everyone. Based around our values of FUN..., LISTEN, LEARN & RESPECT Bentleigh Auskick has been awarded the AFL Victoria "Auskick Centre of the Year" award in 2012 & 2017. Participants need to turn 5 during the Auskick Season between April and August to be eligible. Please note that on the strong recommendation of AFL Victoria we have changed Auskick to a Sunday morning to better align with the Bentleigh Junior Football Club enabling the sharing of resources (including clubrooms and canteen) and continuity into the game times of the Junior Football Club.
