23.01.2022 There are things in life that continually impact our work/life balance and in today's society it is very hard to keep it balanced. Recently my balance was totally out, and I knew that things had to change. So to reduce my stress levels I: * Priortised things - setting realistic goals, postponed where I could. * Learnt to say No - letting go of the sense of duty, eliminated distractions. * Scheduled regular down time - noted relaxation time in my diary, planned some "me" time.... * Put a structure in place - developed a routine, noted important goals, and plan to practise good time management. * Asked for help. If you need to lower your stress levels, consider outsourcing, so that you can keep the balance right.

For security purposes, I would recommend that you use 4 digits, as it is less likely that documents can be fraudulently altered. 20.01.2022 Covid-19 has changed the world as we know it. Everyone is impacted in some way by this pandemic (lost job, reduced hours, overworked, lifestyle restrictions etc). 19.01.2022 Last Friday I had a lovely Christmas Lunch with a group of virtual assistants from Virtually Yours VA. As we work in an industry that can be isolating and remote, it was great to get together. 17.01.2022 It is not often that we let our phone battery run low, and when we do, we have no option but to slow down as it recharges. Like our phones we need to ensure that we are allocating time for self care. Delegate where you can to give yourself time to recharge, especially as we approach the busyness at the end of the year. Remember self care is a priority - not a luxury.

15.01.2022 Doing backups are so important!!! This was the case when I recently performed some updates on a client's website. The golden rule is to do a backup before doing the updates, just in case things go wrong. As this website had not been updated for some time, it wasn't surprising that things did go horribly wrong. Having a backup meant that I was able to re-instate the website, whilst I located the problem. So being World Backup Day, please ensure that you back up all your files. You never know when you might need that copy.

15.01.2022 I officially started my little business on 29 February 2012. In leap years this is my 2nd anniversary, but in actually years it is my 8th anniversary. Been an interesting journey so far, but still loving it!

10.01.2022 Facebook is continually making changes and one of their latest changes is to Business pages. They are removing the 'Likes' from business profiles and focussing more on 'Follows'. So please hit 'Follow' if you want to continue to see my posts in your news feeds. If you are not sure how to do this, go to my business page and find the 3 dots on the right hand side of my business profile page. One of the drop down options is follow settings. You might want to do this on other business pages you like.

08.01.2022 Recently, a client of mine was a speaker at an event. With the information used during the presentation, we are currently looking at ways in which this content can be repurposed to help increase their online presence. Fortunately the event was recorded, so with the video, the presentation slides, and other relevant materials, this is all forming the basis of their content creation strategy. 07.01.2022 What does your week ahead look like? Ready to tackle your workload after a break, or is it all too overwhelming? Having a 3 day week, due to Easter Monday and Anzac Day (in Aus & NZ), was great. Many people took advantage of this time by taking extra leave, to make it a longer break, but now it is back to work. So far my week is coming together nicely, but if you need a helping hand, I am always happy to assist.

02.01.2022 Recently I came across a great you can now use on your social media posts and I wanted to share it with you. Just at https://yaytext.com/, then choose 'copy' for the style you want and paste it back into your post. It's a great little tool, but just be aware that occasionally some devices cannot read them. I'm sure you will have fun making your posts .

Recently a fellow VA's laptop stopped working, fortunately she works mainly in the cloud and backs up her files on a regular basis. There is nothing worse than losing your files, when a computer/laptop life comes to an end. Whether you backup to a storage device, or to the cloud, make a habit of doing it frequently.
