21.01.2022 HOME WORKOUTS Comment below your favorite home workout! - If our worst fears come true and the gyms close here is your survival pack for home workouts while implementing the use of high-volume training with a plethora of intensity principles including: 20+ rep sets... AMRAP sets Supersets Blood flow restriction training Drop sets Little rest (30-60s max) Cluster sets Myoreps - These have all shown to sig. enhance metabolic fatigue & thus hypertrophy. The key here is that you take your sets as close proximity, if not to complete to failure. Correct, your muscles know nothing but stress & tension. The Henneman size principle which states that motor units fire from smallest to biggest as effort increases e.g. we start a set of bench with 100kg. For the first few reps the effort is low & we fire more small/slow motor units. Come rep 10, the WEIGHT is the same but our small/slow motor units have fully fatigued & the effort is a lot more thus we fire more larger/faster motor units until we eventually fail on the 12th rep (all the muscle fibres in the chest have been recruited & fully fatigued not able to produce enough force to move the weight). The same effect would happen for benching 50kg & fail at rep 24 or bench 160kg & fail at rep 5. 15.01.2022 With Christmas fast approaching I thought it would be a good time to share this. Everyone should be able to enjoy a guilt free day with loved ones and they can. Any questions or comments leave them below Or DM @iwade_fitness 1.) Dont Stress Out! You wont undo all of your progress within one day. Release any food restrictions you have for the day and eat what you desire. Nothing is off limits! 2.) Enjoy the main dishes. There are foods that you have... only during Christmas. Maybe its a special family dish. Reserve your stomach space for those items. 3.) Eat your meat and vegetables first. Get your protein and micronutrients in before you indulge in anything else. These will fill you up and prevent you from overeating. 4.) Stop when you feel satisfied. We all know when were about to step over the eating like an asshole line. Once you start forcing down food after youre full, then you know youve crossed it! 5.) Go for a walk afterward. Gentle walking will aid with the digestion process. Its also a good way to get away from the dinner table, and spend quality time with your family and friends. 6.) Workout the next day. 14.01.2022 Dont forget ALL foods, condiments, sweetened drinks etc have calories. Heres a quick breakdown and why you might be going over your calories without realizing. 1 Oils added to food. This is a big one. Oils are tasty and give food flavor. But they are also higher in calories. If you are being generous with your oils and butter, just remember that they contain calories! (lots of em) 2 Inaccurate serving sizes. You love peanut butter...But are you really measuring ...out 1 tablespoon? Or are you eating multiple servings and only tracking it as 1 serving? Be honest! 3 Did you eat a treat or some yummy food over the weekend? Cool! Hope you enjoyed yourself! But just know that those calories still matter, regardless if you decided to track them or not. 4 Are you a fan of cream and sugar in your coffee? Thats okay if you are. Just know that cream and sugar calories can add up fairly quickly, especially if you drink coffee every day. Black coffee has 0 calories, and you can always add 0 calorie sweeteners! 5 Are you trying to add more salads to your diet? Great! Veggies are very beneficial to have. Heads up, though. Salad dressings, especially creamy ones, are high in calories and can turn a 300 calorie salad into a 600+ calorie salad FAST! 6 If you are drinking sugary beverages like soda, sweet tea, or juices, those calories add up very quickly and you might not even realize it. 13.01.2022 Hey guys, After last nights announcement regarding Stage 1 of the Social Distancing recommendations, the gym will be closed as of 12pm today, Monday 23rd of March. I am sadly unable to conduct my business as usual. All payments and debits will be paused immediately.... However, I am in the process of setting up 3 x Outdoor Bootcamps per week (Tuesday night, Friday and Saturday morning) and can do 1 on 1 sessions outside (weather permitting). Beyond that, most people would be happy to spot you or help teach you how to do something if youre unsure. - Dont be afraid to fail, the gym is a place where failure is a good thing! 07.01.2022 Whats One Improvement Youre Proud Of? Comment below Ever feel like youre not making progress? I have and quite frequently. It used to be really demotivating to not see any noticeable change in my body either in phases of gaining muscle or losing fat. But overtime, I began to realize that what I saw in the mirror or what the scale says arent the best ways to measure progress in the short term. Physical change takes time. Instead of purely focusing on what you see ...in the mirror or the scale, look at other aspects of your life. For example, being more aware of what youre eating and preparing more of your own meals. Its a small improvement, but you are now heading in the direction of having better nutrition. In the long run, that effect will compound. So focus on the small wins, and remind yourself, daily, of this. Being aware of the smaller improvements will help you stay motivated and help build healthier momentum in your life. We are all making progress, you just have to shift your perspective. See more

Many people that have started a training program and started seeing some results in the gym can get really frustrated when they get sick and have to skip their workouts for a couple of days. They usually feel that all their progress might go down the drain and that theyll have to start over with their training. And instead, they hit the gym while theyre sick... and as a result, they sometim...es get worse and have to stay gym-free for weeks. Instead, a better option might be to listen to your body and rest. Let your body recover and dont worry about losing all your gains. Most likely, youll bounce back after a week and be performing even better after your rest period.
