16.01.2022 And that was Twilight Market 2019! What an absolutely magical day! Despite the rain threatening to spoil our fun our enthusiastic community just embraced the weather and partied on. Kids reported that the rain just made it better and in some ways we’d have to agree since some of our favourite moments of the market happened as a result of the rain coming, such as:... The Devil Goat String Band launching into an acoustic set in the agora, creating some wonderful intimate festive vibes under the cover of the trees; Somehow throwing soggy poos into the loo made the game even more appealing than usual- the game continuing long into the evening; Parents laughing at soaked kids trying to wiggle their way down a wet slide because they kept sticking to it; And kids piling into the hall to bust out some dance moves on the hall stage to their favourite tunes on the Beps Jukebox. Congratulations to Team Twilight 2019. You’ve all put in so much time and effort to make this event such a success. Some very long hours were put in this week and so many also in the lead up months. It’s been a mammoth effort. I know us coordinators were on our feet for somewhere around 14 hours yesterday but it was 100% worth it. Look what we created together! It’s been loads of fun working with you all. What a super team! Thank you to everyone who contributed- coordinators and stall leaders, teams, volunteers, makers, donors and those who came and played and partied with us until dark. So much good food, drinks, treats, treasures and fun. Thank you to Janet and Jill who were first in and last to leave - we appreciate all your wonderful support. And of course Marianne and the fabulous school office staff and teachers who contributed in many different and important ways. Lastly a special mention to Fiona Tame, our TM Comms superstar. Not only did you manage to stay on top of all of the various communications but you also managed to coordinate Kids Cafe and still assist us with countless odd jobs over the past few months. Legend. I can’t believe it’s all over once again for another year. We are already buzzing with ideas for 2020 but I hope you won’t mind if we just go and get another nap now... 07.01.2022 Another fantastic waste wise market! Only ONE bin of rubbish for an entire market of hundreds of people and over 2500 serves of food plus drinks. Only ONE!!! ... Thank you to everyone for getting amongst it and being part of this new normal. No more disposable items. YAY! BEPS do an incredible job at limiting the amount of waste we produce for a school fundraiser. We don't use any bottled, canned or packaged drinks. We don't use any disposable cups, plates, bowls or cutlery, and we are close to loosing the paper napkins altogether! It's a pretty amazing effort, and it takes everyone to make this happen. So a massive thank you again to all those who helped on the Waste Wise stall. It's not the most glamorous job, but it sure is satisfying.
