24.01.2022 More on the olive harvest - this time to anwer your questions as to how we make our olive oil in Morocco: This is the time of year for the olive harvest in Morocco. The olives are harvested by hand from the trees. The farmers carefully shake the olive tree branches using sticks. Then they collect the olives that fall to the ground. We buy our olives by the kilo directly from the farmer and take them to the olive oil pressers to get our olive oil. All Moroccan families do... this - olive oil is an important part of our diet and we only want 100% pure natural organic olive oil. The pressers are busy at this time of year and we must all wait our turn. Our bag of olives is emptied into the collection bin to be fed into the presser for the start of the process to make olive oil. In the past the olives would be pressed between woven mats and some places still do this, but many are changing to these automatic pressers. After the olives are pressed here it is, 100% pure natural organic olive oil made in Morocco . We will be having some for breakfast.
