25.01.2022 One of our stud sires, Aruma Mr Magic, on pasture today after finishing joining a mob of cows :) We are looking forward to seeing how this big nutted, high growth, high IMF and dumb quiet Zambuka son works over our Flemington Like A Cat L22 cows

22.01.2022 The second of our two heifers being offered for your consideration is Lot 35, Berdihold Qupid. She is pictured having just turned 10 months and has been confirmed by DNA to be homo polled :) Qupids pedigree is stacked with maternal power & performance. Her sire, Flemington Like A Cat L22, had a successful show career winning multiple royal broad ribbons including Intermediate Champion @ Sydney Royal, Reserve champion @ Melbourne Royal & Supreme Beef exhibit at Casino Beef Wee...k. Her dam, Ulster 1 Gold Class won three royal broads (Melbourne, Canberra & Bathurst Royals) and many interbreed titles. We have shown 4 calves out of Classy at royal level and all won or placed in their classes. Classy never fails to produce one of the top calves on farm every year and has exceptional udder quality. Her 2017 heifer (retained & in production) is a full sister to Qupid. She won Brisbane royal and placed at Sydney Royal was used to win many paraders titles Qupid will mature into a larger framed, well balanced cow & would be an asset to any stud. The NLBS will be held on the 7th of August in Scone NSW and online bidding is available through Elite Livestock Auctions Many thanks to Monique Estrada from Target Livestock & Marketing for taking the photos and videos of our heifers :) Click on the links below to see her details & video http://abri.une.edu.au/online/cgi-bin/i4.dll VIDEO: https://youtu.be/3GLiu05Rs2E

22.01.2022 Our resident SNR stud sire, Flemington Like A Cat L22 from a calf through to 2yo He has been a real herd improver for us and we are very happy with his stock. In his first calf crops he has sired winners @ Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane royals

20.01.2022 Well I suspect that EKKA won't be going ahead due to to COVID-19. I wish we could've debuted this calf there in the under 12m class. Pictured @ 6 months, Berdihold Quantico. Sired by Flemington Like A Cat and out of Berdihold Glamour. Maternal brother to Berdihold Loveable & Playboy.

20.01.2022 National JNR Limousin show report - photos from Emily H Photography and parents of kids in the team :) The Berdihold Stud team consisted of 14 head and over a dozen kids that had never been to a cattle camp. To have that many kids with no camp experience on the one team made the first day or two a little challenging as they sorted out their roles within the team. They all learnt a lot about working as a team and by the final day they were a doing really well. I actually think... that on the final day all 14 head had been loaded onto the trucks and all the gear including rubber mats and chutes were packed up before all the other teams! Now that required some teamwork, and by that point the good kids were actively looking for what needed to be done instead of standing around waiting to be told to do something. Getting the cattle and gear there was a little bit of a logistical nightmare but thankfully my dad flew back into the country at midnight in time to drive one of the trucks at 9am! Many thanks also to the other parents who carted hay and gear down for the team :) Chloe Bailey and Brooke Whitney did a great job looking after the whole team and made sure that the cattle were looked after and handled in a safe manner. If those 2 girls were not going to the show I would not have supplied ballots. They really had to step up at this show and learn to delegate and they had a far harder job / far greater work load than the rest of the kids in their respective age groups. Emma Joy also had a steep learning curve over the last couple of months and it paid off with ribbons in both her heifers class and her paraders class. Several of the kids balloted onto my cattle impressed me enough that I would happily lend cattle to them again or recommend them to studs closer to where they live. Their attitude and willingness to learn is commendable. Overall the cattle performed very well and the highlights were: Namadia: Champion SNR heifer led by Chloe Bailey Playboy: Reserve Champion bull, led by Chloe Bailey Porky: Champion trade heifer, led by Joel (I can't spell the last name lol) The kids also had a fantastic show with a fair few getting ribbons in paraders. Not a bad effort considering some had never even led before arriving at the show! Jada Moore winning the first pee wee class with "her" Primadonna was a special moment for me as she really has worked hard with that heifer over the last couple of months. My highlight of the show was when Nate Moore won the champion pee wee herdsman. It is fantastic to see hard work and dedication pay off. Thankfully we have a week or two to recover then the road trips continue with National All Breeds, Brisbane Royal, Singleton Show then Melbourne Royal are the next few events on our calendar!

19.01.2022 Our new sire, Aruma Mr Magic, surveying the property this morning. He has arrived from South Australian drought country at midnight last night and has travelled wonderfully. Many thanks to Falls Livestock transport :) I'm already looking forward to the Mr Magic x Flemington Like A Cat calves!

18.01.2022 Homo polled Flemington Like A Cat heifer @ 17m. Joined to a Southwest Nobel Prize K9 bull and part of the Sydney royal team

16.01.2022 Some of the 2020 born Flemington Like A Cat L22 calves. This is his last crop of natural calves here as he has been sold on due to retaining so many of his heifers. We collected him though so we can use him again in the future. He has been a real herd improver for us and consistently adds muscle, capacity, strength of spine & bone.

14.01.2022 Many thanks to Stuart Hobbs and his team who took Berdihold Playboy to Melbourne Royal for us. Playboy (14m) was JNR champion limousin bull, then grand champion limousin bull then overall supreme limousin exhibit :) To cap off a fantastic show he was equal 2nd on points in the interbreed JNR bull!... His ET dam (Wat-Cha Playmate 1p x Mags Sasquatch) has been such a good producer for us that she is being flushed in November. Photo by Emily H Photography and led by Chloe Bailey :)

12.01.2022 The 2020 show team will start prep this weekend to get them ready for the local shows :)

11.01.2022 Lot 40, Berdihold QT @ 11 months. She is being offered for your consideration at the NLBS at Scone on the 7th of August. Her dam won Sydney and Melbourne royals and her sires full flush sister won JNR champion @ Sydney Royal. Broken in and suitable for pee wee / JNR handlers. She has been confirmed by DNA to be homo polled :) Click on the links below to see her de...tails and video VIDEO: https://youtu.be/OgBIdf1_sVY DATABASE: http://abri.une.edu.au/online/cgi-bin/i4.dll Many thanks to Monique Estrada from Target Livestock & Marketing for taking some photos and videos of our heifers. 10.01.2022 We have been looking for a while for a new SNR herd sire to go over our Flemington Like A Cat cows and we finally got one - Aruma Mr Magic :) I have seen Aruma Mr Magic at a few shows over the years and always liked his pedigree, type and disposition. He is out of one of my favourite cows in the country in Raven Red Ms Gillard and sired by the well known and proven Greenwood pld Zambuka He will arrive in the next few weeks and we are looking forward to seeing how the FLC x AMM cross works next year!

10.01.2022 Berdihold QT, pictured @ 9 months. She is offered as Lot 40 @ 2020 Northern Limousin Breeders Sale. Friday 7th August, at the Scone Selling Complex. 09.01.2022 We are delighted to have purchased a new JNR herd sire, Flemington Quiet Achiever Q63 (HP, B). His scan data at 13 months was: 660kg 116 EMA 7/5 fats 5.2 IMF 37cm SC. When I saw this calf a couple of months ago I knew that he would be coming home. He is an outcross for our herd being out of the great donor cow, Red Rock Black Lynx L6, and sired by Flemington Next Level (Ivy's Bubba Watson). I've done a lot of travelling to try to find a new herd sire and this fella ticked al...l the boxes. He has outstanding performance, positive fats, great length, plenty of natural thickness, good substance of bone, good scrotal size, great feet and a good set of numbers to work with. His full ET sister (14m) sold for $31,000 as lot 19 in the same sale :) He will be heading straight to an AI centre to have semen collected then be vaccinated for 3-day before coming home!

07.01.2022 Some more photos by Emily H Photography :) Berdihold Playboy @ Melbourne Royal 2019.

Congrats to Nate Moore for winning pee wee champion parader and Chloe Bailey for winning the SNR then Grand Champion parader. Congrats also to Renee for winning the golden oldies with Oakie! I also need to say a massive thankyou to all the parents and helpers who do so much for the team. Thanks especially to Chloe Bailey, Jono & Brooke Moore and Renee Crittenden who have attended all / most of the shows this season and without them I would never be able to run big teams so easily. Showing cattle really is a team sport and am so grateful to be surrounded by all the people that make up the Berdihold Stud team :) Lastly many thanks to the show committee who run such a friendly show every year and all the sponsors below who provided some very handy prizes! 03.01.2022 Berdihold Stud herd sires for 2020 - 2021. Aruma Mr Magic - Greenwood Pld Zambuka x Raven Red Ms Gillard (Wulfs Realtor). Homo polled, dumb quiet, positive fats, excellent performance and a multiple royal broad ribbon winner. His dam was one of my favourite limousin cows in Australia and his sire, Zambuka, has proven himself with both stud cattle and show steers performing exceptionally well. Semen is available and he will soon be on the ALBS database as an unrestricted AI si...re. Flemington Like A Cat L22 - Flemington Exception x Gold Star Zephyr D45. A bull we've used successfully to add growth, muscle, bone and improve udder quality. He is also a multiple royal broad ribbon winner and has sired royal winners. His sire, Exception, was a bull that I'd admired for years after seeing his daughters in milk and his steers win the big shows. FLC has had a massive impact on our herd most of the cows were replaced by their FLC daughters. Semen is available and he is an unrestricted AI sire. Berdihold Playboy - Flemington Firecracker F21 (Wulfs Springloaded) x Berdihold Glamour (Mags Sasquatch x Wat-Cha Playmate 1p). A homo polled, super safe calving, lovely natured & great footed heifer bull. His dam, Glamour, entered the donor pen last year due to the consistent high quality of her calves. Her dam, Wat-Cha Playmate 1p was the show dam of the year in Canada and produced multiple stud sires and donor females. Playboy was the grand champion limousin bull at EKKA 2019 and the supreme limousin exhibit at Melbourne royal 2019. His first calves have been born and have averaged 33kg.
