24.01.2022 We are absolutely devastated to advise that Beretta’s Bike Studio is permanently closed. Yesterday we made the biggest and most difficult decision of our lives, we placed our business into Voluntary Administration. Bicycle retail is a seriously tough gig and we needed to make a decision that was in the best interests of our suppliers, our customers and ourselves. There are many factors which led us to this point; a challenging economic climate, changing customer buying hab...its, an out of touch tax system, overhead costs and diminishing margins are only a few. We couldn’t say there was one single big thing that put the pressure on but a culmination of all the above. We have lived and breathed the bicycle business from day one. Riding and racing has been a deep part of our everyday lives of our almost ten years in business. We’ve made some of the most incredible friends through the shop and the bike industry, friendships that will never be forgotten. A huge thank you to our staff who have helped us along the way; Simon King, Nathan Curtis, Steve Young, Dale Scarfe, Chloe McIntosh, Mello Failla, Pete Kerr, Evan Spoljaric, Ash Key and Michael Hale, we can’t thank you all enough and we loved working with each and every one of you. To our ambassadors, it’s been an honour to support you Beckworth Racing, James Goodall, Belinda Hadden and Byron Mitchell thank you for your unwavering loyalty. A special thanks to our greatest partner in business, Specialized Bicycles. They stood by us all the way, in tough times they were prepared to work with us and even after making our decision the Aussie General Manager called from New Zealand to check in on us. We just can’t thank Specialized enough for their support. We’ve always believed in giving back to our community and supporting charity and over our time have been actively involved in the following: St Patricks School Fete Kardinia College Kick-Fest Tour De Cure, 2011 2017 Mechanical Support Run Geelong, 2014 Cadel Evans Road Race, 2016 & 2017 Mechanical Support Geelong Multi Sport Festival, (for the first four years) Geelong Surf Coast Cycling Club sponsor There’s a lot we’ll miss, but by far the biggest thing is seeing kids get on their first bike the huge smile and that sense of freedom they get when riding a bicycle, that’s always been a real privilege to see.
