15.01.2022 Its national Frog Week Did you know the traditional name for Balcombe Estuary Tji'tjin'garook means "voice of frogs"? This national frog week you can help check on the health of frogs in your backyard or favourite reserves by downloading (unless you already have it) and using the FrogID app to record frog calls.... These recordings are used to monitor frog distributions over time, helping scientists to understand how frogs and their ecosystems are responding to a changing planet. https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=aBoHdAhJm0I# #frogweek #citizenscience #frogIDapp #bergmtmartha #caringforourenvironment

15.01.2022 Looking for something fun to do with the kids? It's Australian pollinator week, and to celebrate they've posted a waggle dance challenge. The dance mimics the extraordinary way honey bees communicate and celebrates bees’ crucial role in pollination and food security.... The Global Online Waggle Dance has been designed to allow people to unite from anywhere in the world from the safety of their own home so that they can become part of this global celebration. So get your waggle on, and stay tuned for more pollinator activities and info #bergmtmartha #caringforourenvironment #caringforourcommunity #pollinatorweek

13.01.2022 Help! We're looking to effectively mobilise our volunteer teams now on-ground events have recommenced. To do this, we're looking for a couple of Brushcutters/Whipper Snippers - for fine trimming to heavy-duty work in rough terrain. If you have one that is stored away, no longer required, unloved and lonely, looking for someone to get its blades back into action. Maybe you'd consider letting us put it to use again. We'd love to look after it for you. We're great at repurposing equipment. Message us or email: [email protected]

04.01.2022 Spotted by one of our keen eyed volunteers on their daily walk #echidna #pricklyfriend #faunaofbalcombeestuary #bergmtmartha Photo thanks to Jenny
