05.01.2022 Meet the Artist: Melissa Egan was born in Sydney in 1959. She attended the World College of South East Asia in Singapore and then gained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Australian National University. She also holds a Diploma of Education from the Canberra College of Advanced Education. She has been a finalist in the Archibald Portraiture Prize and the Sulman Prize at the Art Gallery of NSW. Egan has also been a finalist in the Doug Moran and Portia Geach Portrait prizes, the Blake Religious Art Prize , the Fleurieu Landscape Prize and the Kedumba Drawing Award.
