11.01.2022 With the current situation, we felt it was necessary to give you an update on what is going on at Berkelouw’s Mona Vale. We are still very much open for business and would like to assure you that the wellbeing and health of our customers and staff is always an absolute priority. All of our employees have been trained to maintain the highest possible hygiene standards. In addition we have decided to suspend all our major Author Events for the foreseeable future, and we will b...e watching closely how this situation unfolds in the next few days and weeks. So for now, just know that our shop is open as usual, ready to nourish and entertain you. We strongly believe in the power of books to guide us during testing times. We encourage you to visit us. However for those who cannot, we are making some exciting changes so you can access us more easily from the comfort of your home. We are always happy to post a book to you or else you can organise pick up using a delivery service (we recommend Go Fetch). Books are all-natural anxiety busters, so stay tuned for ways in which we will strive to bring them to you still; whether in person, by delivery, or via streaming author and storytelling sessions. 06.01.2022 We are thrilled to be hosting author Annabet Ousback for an all-day book signing of her new book #RedHerringsForBreakfast in-store on Friday 26 June from 11am. This beautifully written story traces the history of brother and sister Annabet and Anders Ousback, who grew up living in the now iconic boatshed at Balmoral Beach in the 1950s. While it seemed idyllic, their lives were anything but. They were raised under the care of their overbearing, violent Swedish father and very strict, emotionally distant mother, who were both unsupportive of the children’s creativity and talents. Come along to meet Annabet, and have your copy of the book signed! See you there.
