12.01.2022 #slablife It doesn't all have to be live egdes and resin rivers. I like to rip some slabs with a #circularsaw and track. You can produce almost any dimension of timbers you wish! This greybox slab is being ripped into lengths to create a workbench. Each cut is revealing some beautiful grain, very satisfying watching this salvaged log find a new life! #sustainabletimber #alaskanmill #australianhardwood #sustainablymade

10.01.2022 That was a spicy meat ball! Tackling a big spotted gum amongst the giants yesterday the boys encountered a few challenges. By lunch we had a saw pinched like a kid on St Paddys day and 44 stuck, however we continued moving forward. Thanks to some help from some legends we ended up salvaging the day with 3 slabs in the shed and the log ready for round 2 next weekend learned a lot and everyone got to go home safe #salvagedtimber #alaskanmill #mobilemilling #sustainablymade

03.01.2022 This beauty of a tree had to come down due to power lines. Joshua and myself saw more than firewood or wood chips in this Silvertop Ash :) We ended up with 1 post 200x200mm by 5.4M 3 Slabs 60mm thick by 5.4M And 2 boards 100x200mm at 5.4M long. Josh has plans for the post, I have the slabs stacked waiting for their day :)... #sustainabletimber #alaskanmill #mobilemilling See more
