The main focus ...of the meeting was to present some preliminary planning ideas for the town, following the rescinding of the previous Spiire plan by Council in June 2017. 05.01.2022 Bermagui Playground Meeting Minutes Date and Time: Friday 17th October 2014 @ 11.30am Venue: Bermagui Library Attendance: Richard Cunningham (BVSC), Liz Hugget, Isabel Haida, Narelle Myers, ... General Business - A meeting was held with Richard Cunningham, from Bega Valley Shire Council (BVSC) with the following points discussed.( Please note these are general ideas and no formal decisions have be made. Further community consultation and planning is required): There was a discussion about the community interest and need for a playground in Bermagui. It was expressed that there is a hugh interest and that the playground should be a priority for the community. General thoughts were there are more young families moving to the area, lack of current infra structure, benefits to local business, long term health and community benefits of playgrounds etc. A summary of the conversations and ideas that have already emerged from the community. There is a general feeling that an inspiring, purpose built regional playground, located near the new skate park, could replace the existing playgrounds. There was a conversation about how BVSC and Bermagui Community can work together to develop/ improve playgrounds in Bermagui (Action Plan/ Process). This could include 1. BVSC developing a Master Plan for the Dickenson Park Reserve, to include a new playground. 2. Place the proposed playground on BVSC Action Plan for 2015/2016 3. Potentially commence construction of a new playground in 2015/2016 Discussion about funding options included BVSC directing some money to the project in the next financial year, approaching Woolworths for a grant, looking at other grant options once a master plan and costing’s have been developed. Business Arising from General Business (where to from here) Ideas and possibility for the playground, including design and equipment to be collected. Suggest via Bermagui Playground Project FaceBook Page and email. Summary of the ideas to be forwarded once a month to Richard to be considered for the master plan. Continue to gather support of local community and businesses for the playground project. Look at options for community collaborations and partnerships, e.g. community garden project, bike paths etc. List of community members to volunteer to design, construct, provide resources playground to be developed and forwarded to BVSC for consideration to Master Plan. Council to develop Master Plan for a regional park to include proposed new playground, further skate park, BBQ areas, seating etc. Opportunities for community input to be facilitated. People interested in a formal role on the Playground Project should attend Bermagui Skate Park Committee AGM on November 15th, 4pm @ the Bermagui Country Club Meeting Closed 1.00pm
