22.01.2022 We all know that there are some days where workouts just suck! But have you ever sat and had a think about what it the root of the issue? Have you not had enough sleep the night before? Poor performance in the gym is linked closely to lack of sleep. Perhaps you thrive on workouts with a friend or a group like structure. Why not grab a mate and sign up, or join us for one of our 15 classes we now have on. ... Many of us are far too slack with our water consumption during a workout. Not only does it make us feel better overall, but our body NEEDS adequate hydration. According to the American College of Sports Medicine, it is recommended to intake 600 ml of water before exercise and further it states that it requires at least 1200 ml water for proper hydration during a one-hour workout. The reason is that, when workouts are done, in order to maintain blood pressure and proper blood circulation, an adequate amount of water intake is mandatory. If enough water is not taken during workouts from the water bottle, body shuttles water from muscles causing improper muscle pump and bad effects from workouts. When it comes to working out, a big emphasis is put on protein for post workout recovery, but what about pre workout? Are you consuming enough carbohydrates to fuel your workout? Complex carbohydrates are a great slow realising energy source for the body before a workout. Working out on an empty stomach sucks, trust us! So next time its hard to get to the gym. Stop. Take a moment. Evaluate why that might be and decide what aspects of this you can take control of and implement change. 13.01.2022 . What a terrible problem to have right?... So its time for Carly to dust off her workout shoes and hit the gym floor with some classes. We have added additional classes on a Wednesday which is by far our favorite day for bookings which always had a waiting list, as well as another class on Monday night. All of these new addition classes will be held outdoors as to not interrupt our regular gym members workouts! You will find on the timetable, a "Partner WOD", "Free Weight Strength" and "Kettle Ball". is a workout designed for two people. with a combination of cardio and weights, the beauty of this workout is that there is a possibility of a rest throughout the workout. consisting of anywhere from 4-8 exercises, these workouts are sure to get those endorphins pumping and leave you feeling a sense of achievement. is a HIIT style workout using a kettlebell and a range of different slam and wall balls. This timed workout incorporates whole body functional fitness incorporating movements that we use in everyday life. A great way to gain strength, incorporate cardiovascular fitness and throw some heavy things around. will be held outdoors using only free weights. Similar to our strength circuit, you will be completing 8 exercises, twice through with a 5 minute cardio component in the middle. This class will focus on completing major lifts and functional movements to get you independently working out in the gym. 10.01.2022 I wasnt going to share this because some days I feel uncomfortable looking at it. On the left I am 6 weeks post partum, and on the right I am 16 weeks post partum. There is 10 weeks between the two and a lot has gone on, not only with my body but also my mind. With the help of @careenkiller I implemented a basic post partum exercise regime, I would like to say this was hard but it was very basic body weight and dumbbell movements, 3 times a week with walks every ...day. I also aimed to get my step count up to at least 10,000. I found this quite challenging, I wanted to throw myself in the gym and lift heavy again. I went from training for a bodybuilding competition to being pregnant with Hypermesis and unable to train within 3 months. So I have missed the gym considerably. This growth and change mainly has come from controlling my eating. My priority is still breastfeeding my little boy, so my calories have sat at 2100, what would normally be a surplus for me but due to the boobie monster, is enough of a deficit to see considerable fat loss. This has not affected my milk supply and has allowed me with the opportunity to enjoy some more calorie dense foods. Ive had a Mars bar and hot chocolate every evening for the last 10 weeks! This isnt a post to toot my own horn, or receive praise, but to show that the road to regaining your post partum body isnt out of reach. It takes dedication to your nutrition and perseverance. It takes an acknowledgement of growing and birthing the amazing little life from your body and the process to gain some of me back takes time and vision. 4kg down, body recomposition to come! #postpartumbody #postpartumfitness #postpartum #fitmum See more
