06.01.2022 Aldridge state school yarning circle. Thank you to all the helpers and Bermex Team

05.01.2022 Aldridge have an exciting new addition to our school which was constructed over the school holidays. Students will return to school to a new Yarning Circle situ...ated outside of T Block. A Yarning circle is an important part of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. It has been used for centuries to build respectful relationships and to preserve and pass on cultural knowledge through discussion (yarning). We are very fortunate to have had Butchulla Elder Uncle Glen Miller hand craft us a talking stick to utilise. Thank you Uncle Glen. On behalf of Aldridge State High School we wish to sincerely thank: Active tree fellas for donating the logs Hervey Bay garden centre for supplying all the plants Callam Cross and his team from Bermex Earthworks for the construction Paco Chavez from DMI Industries for the graphic designing and printing of the signs. We hope that all our students are able to utilise this beautiful area both in lunch breaks and by incorporating it into lesson plans.
